Investing in Australian Coins and Banknotes
Ranked #142,304 in Entertainment, #1,540,934 overall
Where is the Market situated?
The Australian coin and banknote market has never been stronger. Over the last decade and beyond it has shown a steady market rise far outstripping any other form of investment with rises of well over 1000% common over the ten year period.
When will the current boom end? That is a question no one can really answer, however this boom has been going a long time and looks to continue going by the international auction results with new records broken on a monthly basis.
On the top end of the market there is still room for steady growth with new records with every international auction. At the lower end there is big room for value added investments. My own personal experiences are many. The most recent investments that come to mind are the 1924 Five Pounds purchased in 2004 for $1600 and auctioned in 2005 at $5800 360% increase in two years;and the Australian 1923 Halfpenny rising from $400 to $2500 over the previous five years, a stunning 625%. Both the above were sold in fine circulated condition.
Then there is the famous, rare Australian 1930 penny. A new record was set in 2006 for a copper coin with a final bid of over $630,000 for an extremely rare proof specimen at a London (UK) auction. A fine circulated coin currently averages $20,000 Australian from $7500 in 1994 with steady incremental rises over the last ten years. Many an expert analysts has reiterated that the coin is undervalued so expect to see a leap in value any time soon.
Now they are promoting coins and banknotes as Superannuation alternatives, something well worth considering. With a far greater average dividend in growth than most other forms of investment it would have to be a viable alternative. Seek the help of a professional to guide you in your investments.Â
NEWSFLASH! Noble Numismatic Auction shatters world records! There is a Rare Australian Proclamation coin called the Holey Dollar. It is the rarest coin of the realm.
