Best Burger in Austin
There are a lot of good hamburgers in the city, but here are a few that you have to try
1. Crown & Anchor * Casual indoor/outdoor location, with lots of beer options on tap. Order a cheeseburger and your favorite pitcher of suds, and get ready to experience heaven.
** Located at 2911 San Jacinto (by UT campus)
2. Hut's Hamburgers
* Another legendary Austin restaurant. Annually picked as the #1 burger place by Austin voters. All of the (great) burgers here have unique names, like: The Big Bopper, The Theta Special and The Alley-Oop. If you are feeling really hungry, try the Dagburger. Just make sure you've got plenty of time to let it digest afterwards.
** Located at 807 West 6th Street (near downtown)
3. Phil's Icehouse
* Phil's is a newcomer to the Austin burger scene. Founded in 2006 by Steve & Amy, famous for Amy's Ice Cream. Phil's is located right next to their Amy's location on Burnet road. A great place to bring the kids, get a fantastic burger and then enjoy some ice cream. What makes Phil's unique is the buns they use - no one uses a tastier bun for their burger than Phils. Try the El Jardin burger or the 78704 burger.
** Located at 5620 Burnet Road
4. Player's * Another 'greasy spoon' near the UT campus. The best time to hit players is late at night. The best compliment to a Player's burger is one of their delicious milkshakes.
** Located at 300 West MLK (by UT campus)
5. Billy's on Burnet
* Another newer place. Billy's was started a couple of years ago by the owner of Crown & Anchor. So he obviously knows a little something about making a good burger. The place is a casual, neighbhorhood bar/restaurant that is family friendly. Try the Shults burger with bacon & cheese.
** Located at 2105 Hancock Drive.
6. Hill-Bert's * An Austin legend, they've been serving good, fast food for 20 years. It's a very casual location, with limited seating if you want to 'dine in'. But they've got a fast drive thru and they deliver. Their fries are thick & delicious, and wash it down with their lemonade or a shake.
** Located at 3303 North Lamar. Call 452-2317 to order. They have a 2nd location at 5340 Cameron Road.
7. Rockets * Located downtown, they are take out and delivery only. A Rockets burger is HUGE and juicy. They come along with chips and a Jolly Rancher.
** Located at 118 West 5th. Call 482-0621 to order.
8. Dan's Hamburgers (also Fran's Hamburgers)
* When Dan & Fran divorced, she got two of the restaurants. They are both equally good, but if you want one of the best burger experiences than stop in to one of Dan's locations.
** Multiple locatios in Austin
9. Dirty's * 80 years old Great burgers, great fried foods and drinks. A favorite for all of the UT college students. They expanded in recent years and have an outdoor seating area right on The Drag, UT's main street.
** Located at 2808 Guadalupe Street.
10. Top Notch Restaurant
* Yet another casual place. This still serves 60's style burgers in paper wraps. Famous for being included in scenes from the movie, Dazed and Confused.
** Located at 7525 Burnet Road

Gaining New Customers
List the firms that compete with your customers. Each company on that list is a potential new customer. Solicit referrals. Offer discounts, freebies, or other incentives to customers who bring you new business.

Try direct marketing. Direct marketing and mailing lists are a convenient way to identify and obtain lists of accurate, targeted sales leads for your business.

Look outside your niche. Think creatively about other markets that may want your product or service. Visit trade shows in crossover industries for ideas.

Consider tweaking your product or service. One way to expand into new markets is to appeal to a broader range of customers. Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities that are related to your current business. Do good deeds and inform prospects of your philanthropy. Environmental groups, for example, will provide your company with referrals if they know you provide environmentally friendly services (your oil-change station recycles used oil) or products (your paper store sells chlorine-free products).

Advertise creatively. Consider special promotions, different media, or other new ways of getting your message out.

Many advertisers have pointed out that traditional forms of advertising have become less effective in reaching their consumers, especially the lucrative 25-35 year old demographic. They are out and about and when they are at home, they're either in front of the computer or usually watching cable (digital) television. It has really segregated the market and forced advertisers to look at creative solutions. Caroline E. Mayer, The Washington Post.
