Formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California (Orange County), Avenged Sevenfold is a five piece metal/hard rock band, mainly influenced by Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Pantera.

They have released three full albums to date. Their first work, a 4 song EP entitled Warmness on the Soul, made way for the release of their first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, which set their sound as metalcore, their sophomore follow up, Waking the Fallen, expanded the bands sound, providing a more straight metal approach, even sounding like power metal in some parts. Their newest album, City of Evil has a different sound, lighter, more rock, but still with the same great guitar and lyrics.
