A Babe Ruth Biography: A Complete History Of Babe Ruth
Early Life Of Babe Ruth:
Babe Ruth the baseball player was born George Herman Ruth, Jr. Babe Ruth was
born on February 6, 1895 - August 16, 1948. The
birthplace of babe ruth was Baltimore, Maryland.
Ruth's parents had little time to take care of him,
and when he was 7 he was sent off to St. Mary's
Industrial School for Boys. There he stayed until
1914, when at the age of 19 he signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles as a pitcher.
Major League Career:
Later Ruth was traded to the Boston Red Sox along with Ben Egan and Ernie Shore. In Ruth's first year he spent much of the year on a minor league team. Ruth pitched for the team the next year and had an 18-8 record as they won the world series.In 1916 Ruth went 23-12, and he followed that up in 1917 with a 24-13 record. In 1918 he went 13-7 with a 2.22 ERA. In 1918 Babe Ruth also began pitching less and hitting more. In 1919 Babe Ruth pitched only 17 times and he hit 29 home runs. In 1919 Babe Ruth was also sold to the Yankees. Babe Ruth would go on to win 4 World Series with the Yanks, while setting single-season and career home run records. Babe Ruth's career ended in 1935. In 1946 he became head of a small baseball program. He died in New York City on August 16, 1948.
