There are many different types and styles of baby prams with a range of different functionalities and purposes. Chances are that there is a baby pram to suit your needs no matter what your lifestyle.

Most baby prams are designed to be easily transportable and will fit in your car when required. This makes them ideal for travelling long distances. The designs are becoming more sophisticated but still keeping in mind the same goals of delivering a better ride for your infant and increased manuverability with a minimum of weight.

Some of the things that you should look out for when buying a baby pram include an adjustable handle height, lockable front wheels, optional accessories, compliance with safety standards, excellent suspension, easy to fold and put away, good manuverability, multi-position seating and reversible seats.

Three wheeled prams are also becoming a more popular type of pram.

Sometimes known as All Terrain Prams, this is obviously a pram with three wheels, two at the back and one at the front. This is in an effort to provide extra stability to a lightweight and robust pram, but continue to provide an comfortable and well cushioned ride for your baby. The biggest advantage of the 3 wheeler is that it is extremely manuverable on a variety of surfaces that conventional prams would often struggle with.

If you travel by car it is important to ensure that the pram will fit in your trunk. If you use public transport a lot you should ensure that you can easily get in and out of the type of transport that you will be using. Or, if most of your outings will be on foot, make sure that the pram is going to be appropriate for the type of terrain that you plan to cover.
