Baltimore Heroes Return for 2007

The season ending playoff loss to the Indiannapolis Colts could have been a shot through the heart!  But, more and more of Baltimore's youthful and energetic football fans have risen above the gloom and doom of the Colt relocation to Indianapolis!

Victory could have removed the remaining schreds of anger remaining from the Colts relocation to Indiannapolis, but our incredibly powerful Raven's football team just couldn't pull off the final victory!

That loss is over!  History!  Our Heroes return for 2007!

2007 Season Ending

A Disaapointment for Ravens Fans

The 2007 football season ended on sour grapes for Ravens fans. The team ends the year with a dismal 5-11 record, and couldn't even claim victory over the winless Miami Dolphins!

Even the final game victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers can't end the disappointment over such a miserable regular season record. The cou-de-tah was the firing of coach Brian Billick, who took the ravens to one superbowl one division title in 8 seasons as Ravens head coach.

History starts again in 2008 with a new coach and a new direction! Go Ravens!!

David vs Goliath

Ravens vs New England - The Epic Battle

On the Monday Night Football prime-time TV stage, with more than 71,000 screaming Ravens fans pumping up the stadium atmosphere, the underdog Baltimore Ravens faced off against the Mighty New England Patriots! What a game!!!

Clearly, the New England Patriots were expected to come into Baltimore, knock out the Ravens, then cruise back out of town untouched.

Not So FAST! The Baltimore Ravens and their fans know what it's like to play tough football!

The Ravens players and fans showed an incredible amount of passion. This game was ours! Despite the loss, Baltimore comes out the winner in my eyes!

This time, the passion and desire to win overwhelmed the point score.

The Ravens and their fans put an amazing level of energy into this game. The Goliath of New England won the point spread, but in my mind the David of Baltimore won the hearts and minds of fans!

Great Game Baltimore!!

Nothing to Lose Against Patriots

Ravens Look to End The Patriots Perfect Season

After 2 wins and 7 losses since my last report on September 23rd, it appears that this Ravens fan has lost his desire to report.

It has been a dismal tumble from our season starting record of 2-1, to our present record at 4-7. After a tough loss to the Cleveland Browns, and an absolute thrashing by the Pittsburgh Steelers (both are Division rivals), the Ravens appear doomed to a losing season

The reason? Probably too many possibilities to choose from...

Turnovers and player injuries are probably the biggest reasons. The Ravens have turned over the ball multiple times in each of the last 5 games, and they appear unlikely to surmount any type of consistent comeback this year. But, does this mean the season is OVER?

Not a chance!!!

The undefeated New England Patriots are coming to town for Monday Night Football on December 3rd, followed by the Indianapolis Colts on December 9th!! Two of the top teams in the NFL provide the Ravens with an excellent opportunity to play spoiler for the remainder of the year. How sweet would it be to stop the Patriot hopes for an undefeated season?

We get our chance on Monday Night!! May the Force be with us!

Miracle On Russell Street

MIracle Matt Stover Delivers the Knockout Blow

For the second week in a row, the powerful Raven Defense seemed to come up empty in the fourth quarter against the Arizona Cardinals!

The Cardinals did not want to leave Baltimore quietly, so they decided to deliver an amazing 17 point comeback in the final quarter of game three. Ravens fans (specifically, ME) were on edge, wondering how Arizona got back in the game. It wasn't all that difficult really.

Enter, Kurt Warner!

The Cardinals backup QB looked impressive as he quietly rolled his offense down the field for two impressive touchdowns. On Arizona's final drive, the Raven defense was able to force a 41 yard field goal which tied the game.

Start the Miracle!

Raven quarterback Kyle Boller gets the offense started at the 20 yard line with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. He was able to lead the Raven offense 52 yards in under two minutes to set up a 46-yard field goal attempt!

Enter, Miracle Matt Stover!

Matt Stover came back out on the field, connected on his fourth field goal of the day, and delivered the final knockout blow to the Arizona Cardinals with 5 seconds remaining!

How great is Matt Stover? The Greatest EVER!

Fourth Quarter Meltdown

Ravens Stumble, DO NOT FALL to The New York Jets

On opening day, the Ravens offense melted down in the first quarter against Cincinnati. This week, the Ravens defense stumbled severely in the fourth quarter against the NY Jets and almost lost the game! Notice I said ALMOST!

For the first half, the Ravens defense had the Jets well under control, allowing only 3 points total. The Ravens followed halftime by holding NY scoreless in the third quarter! Baltimore was ahead 17-3 after three quarters of football, and it was looking like another stellar defensive effort for the Ravens!

But WAIT! The Jets came to play football, and they proceeded to do just that in the fourth quarter.

The pesky NJ Jets finally found the key to unlock the Ravens defense. The Jets came back from a 17-3 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter, and were pounding on the Ravens end zone with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. It looked like they were headed for a touchdown to tie the game!

Then... Ray Lewis...

The Superstar defender intercepted a Kellen Clemens pass which was deflected in the end zone, with 1:04 remaining in the game!

Victory was ours! At least for this game!

Baltimore Ravens Defeat in Cincinnati

Ravens lose to the Bengal's in the game one opener

Everyone who knows football realizes that turnovers can be a game ending nightmare. But, three turnovers in the first quarter?

That's how the Ravens started the 2007 season in Game one against the Cincinnati Bengal's. Despite the turnovers, the Ravens managed to keep the game within reach, and went into half time with a Bengal's 12 - Ravens 10 score. Not bad considering the rough first quarter start.

A scoreless Raven third quarter, combined with a forth Raven turnover, didn't do much to build the confidence of Baltimore fans. But it did set the stage for an incredible forth quarter.

Ed Reed returned a punt for a 63 yard touchdown, and Matt Stover kicked a field goal to give the Ravens their first lead of the game. A short time later, another turnover by the Ravens... And another score for the Bengal's...

In the last few minutes of the game, an epic forth quarter battle developed that saw the Ravens make nearly 10 attempts to reach the end zone from within 10 yards. In the end, the Ravens found themselves on the wrong side of a Bengal's 27 - Ravens 20 final score.

Despite an amazing show put on by player Ed Reed, and consistent performance by kicker Matt Stover, they simply were not enough to save the game.

Baltimore Ravens Pre Season Battles

Rough start to the 2007 season

Starting off the year with a 1 and 3 pre-season record is not what Raven fans would like to see. With all the hype during the off season, and such an exciting year in 2006, we expect to WIN!

Preseason is a time of year where players get to strut their stuff, and coaches get to evaluate talent. The goal is to find the quality players to descend onto the field on opening day. For many of the players trying to make the team, preseason is the only chance they may get.

The Ravens looked good in their first possession in the preseason opener, driving 93 yards for a touchdown. Nice...! They went on to finish the game looking like playoff contenders in a 29-3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The remaining three preseason games were much less exciting, resulting in three straight losses. The Washington Redskins game was made exciting only the severe passing storms that inevitably resulted in a suspended game. The Raven defense still looks good, but the offense still looks a little lethargic.

On Monday night September 10th, the real season begins with the Cincinnati Bengals. This is a tough opponent and should prove to be an exciting game for Baltimore Ravens fans!

Game Day!!!

Ray Lewis - Still the Heart and Soul

Who is the heart and soul of Baltimore?

There is only one player on the Baltimore Ravens football team who's presence is felt even when he isn't in the game! That player, is Ray Lewis!

Ray is the uncompromizing leader of the Baltimore defense. Even when injured, Ray can stand on the sidelines and his presence is felt everywhere!! Ray Lewis IS the heart and soul of Baltimore football right now. Ray represents everything good about why Baltimore fans are such furious fans! Confidence, drive, motivation, and a must win attitude!

After all, that's what football is about right? Winning!! Although there are still lot's of people that believe 'It's how you play the game, not whether you win or lose'? Nah, No WAY!! Football is about WINNING! In my book, there is no reason to play if your goal isn't to WIN!

Ray Lewis, and the Baltimore Ravens Fans, are here to WIN in 2007!!
