Baltimore Orioles History
The history of the Baltimore Orioles is an interesting one. The team was once known for hitting as much with their fists as with their bats! The original Baltimore Orioles team was moved to New York and later became the New York Yankees - it was 1/2 a century (1954) before Baltimore had the Orioles come back home.
The reborn Baltimore Orioles Team was originally the Cleveland Browns (1902) a team relocated from Milwaukee. In fifty-two years of competition, the Browns won one pennant, finished in the first division only twelve times, while finishing seventh twelve times and eighth (last) fourteen times.
Overall, since moving to Baltimore, the Orioles have had considerably more success than their St. Louis forefathers, winning eight division titles, six American League pennants and three world championships.

2007 Season
On June 18, the Baltimore Orioles fired manager Perlozzo after losing 8 straight games. He has since been replaced on an interim basis by Dave Trembley.
Aubrey Huff recorded his 1000th hit, the 200th double, and was the first Oriole to hit for the cycle at home. He joins Brooks Robinson (1960) and Cal Ripken (1984) as the third Oriole to hit for the cycle in the history of the team.
On July 7, Erik Bedard struck out 15 batters in a game against the Texas Rangers tying a franchise record held by Mike Mussina.
On July 31, 2007, Andy McPhail, President of Baseball Operations appointed Dave Trembley that the Orioles Manager until the end of 2007 of the season, and advised him to "Keep up the good work."
Faced with the Texas Rangers Camden Yards on August 22, a team that had suffered 19 strikeouts in the hands of the Minnesota Twins pitching three days earlier, the Orioles surrendered 30 runs -- a modern era record for a single game -- in a 30-3 defeat.
