Soothing & Energizing Natural Water Fountains

This graceful sight evokes the feeling of falling water in a natural setting. Indoor Water Fountains bring the sense and sounds of nature into a favorite room, at home or in the office.

No one needs to be convinced of the flow of energy at a waterfall, small or large. We feel invigorated and renewed standing next to falling water. Feng Shui (pronounce it fung schway) decorating follows principles that flow like water drops from an indoor water fountain.

I took this photograph in 2008 at the local metropolitan waste water treatment plan's complex. It boats one of my favorite public artworks. Every shape is curved - you can see the bottom edge and the right edge of the fountain.

Gravel aggregate borders the pond and the walkways, and also larger gravel comprises a wonderful solid bench built next to an enveloping constructed natural-feeling wall. When seated on the bench, next to the trickling and falling water, it feels like one is secure at the base of an upward curving embracing wall.

This is the peaceful feeling of the embodiment of positive use of the science of Feng Shui. Water is one of the elements of our world and and it is widely used to convey a positive atmosphere in our environments. This is a lens about water fountains for home use, inside and in the outdoor landscape.

Water Features are featured prominently on television home improvement programs for good reason. Enjoy your journey down the Feng Shui trail on the way to selecting your own special Trickling & Serene Water Fountains & Fish Globes & Tanks.

Ancient Chinese Art uses Feng Shui

Millennia ago Feng Shui was reserved for the wealthy few, those already rich and powerful persons who dominated the masses. Eventually the science trickled down the social strata to the point where today, thanks to the Internet, anyone can adopt at least a few Feng Shui practices.

Asians, wherever they live, have shared their love of and practice of the formerly secret art. One can learn from the Internet, from books, and from professional practitioners who specialize in various aspects of Feng Shui.

Some adherents of Feng Shui maintain that it is primarily a spiritual practice and that one must study with a master for years before becoming qualified to advise customers on room arrangements. Others trust their intuitive sense to adopt the principles as they see fit.

Some masters focus on the creation of sacred spaces, harmonious quarters for living, working, and teaching. The concentration is on removing barriers to energy flow. For instance, in a room the chairs and bed should provide users with a view of the entry door, to provide a sense of safety.

Beware of amateur Feng Shui evangelists who promise wealth, health, luck or prosperity for those who purchase this or that or place furniture in just such a way, and no other, who charge a hefty price for this information, without possessing credentials from a true master.

Feng Shui Principles on the Natural Scene

A literal definition for Feng Shui is "wind-water." This is a Chinese discipline, wherein the aesthetic uses heavenly principles to access positive energy that is always flowing around us. Feng Shui channels the positive energies in certain ways, with the intention of accessing all the positives in life, such as good health, wealth, family life, spiritual depth, and other things such as community interactions.

Feng Shui is practiced primarily in architecture and interior decorating on the home, and in landscaping - plant and furniture placement, and the approach to the home. Have you ever entered a house and even before you got to the front door you felt a tremendous sense of peace and welcome?

You admired the entry, the door, and then when the door was opened to you, your breath was taken away by the lovely sight of a welcoming room, and it just felt good to enter? You may have thought it took money to achieve that sense of tranquility, but actually the same experience can be recreated primarily by rearranging the contents of the home - by creating an interior landscape of peace.

Simple actions based on Feng Shui:
Orient one's desk so that the user faces the door.
Place objects of beauty within sight when entering front door.
Create uncluttered horizontal spaces, counters and desktops.
Place a mirror at the end of a dark hallway.
Post a list of affirmations where you often see it.

Remember how you feel when you look at this photograph, and don't settle for a messy home. Create your own sense of peace: act to remove clutter, file it or at least put it in containers out of sight.

At the least, after you rid your entry and other rooms of clutter, place some favorite articles that you love to look at (such as a large plant, a soothing painting, a huge scenic poster, a bookcase of treasured books, a lovely large mirror, or plant stand with your newest orchid lit and prominently displayed) in view of anyone entering the door.

If you don't want to post your list of affirmations - walk around your home with your list, and in turn, look for items or clothing or jewelry that evoke in you acknowledgement of each affirmation. Assign each item with a keyword that reminds you of the affirmation.

Example: I see my turquoise necklace that I got from my mother and it reminds me that "I am much loved!" and on and on. Practice looking for and at each one of your affirmation items every day; build your confidence and build your sense of well-being.

What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is an ancient philosophy from China, stemming from the 1400s, and practiced as an artform.

The trigram is the basic shape. It is divided by two horizontal and two vertical lines, into nine squares. It is used as a grid to superimpose on the interior or exterior landscape to evaluate energy flow, and energy blockers.

Remedies to energy traps take many forms, from the use of objects, to performance of actions or intentions, to rebalance the energies in a space.

Some transcendental solutions are employed as remedies, as complements to other strategies, such as those which use the five elements.

Some objects and some shapes are identified with the history of Feng Shui, and thus are used as remedies.

Space Clearing is used to rid an area of inauspicious energy, and to instill positive intention - according to the International Feng Shui Guild, "to raise the vibratory level, or qi." www.ifsguild.org/

What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui, literally translated, means Wind and Water. It is a system of philosophy, a practice and art that has been used for thousands of years as a method of creating balance between people and their environments.

Almost every culture of the world reflects some awareness of the power of placement and the value of understanding the environments we inhabit in its wisdom teachings. It is this ancient legacy that Feng Shui practitioners seek to enliven, embrace, uphold and share. At the deepest level of understanding, Feng Shui is the interplay between the seen (our surroundings) and the unseen (energy and intention). Feng Shui acknowledges the interconnectedness of all things.

Decorate Using Feng Shui

The science of Feng Shui holds that all living things have inherent living energy, called Ch'i, and our well-being can be enhanced through the artful use of the three Feng Shui Principles.

The idea that all things possess energy is a primary Ch'i principle. The energy may seem stationary, since rocks don't move of their own volition, but on an elemental particle level energy exists. We can feel that energy in our responses to materials, the way we choose wood over stone, or pebbles over cracked sharp rocks.

Like the Butterfly Effect from Chaos Theory - where the flap of a butterfly's wings on one continent may have a ripple effect on the ocean half a sphere away - Feng Shui holds that the Ch'i energy connects every thing and being with an invisible artery effect.

Thirdly, the energy - identified also in Acupuncture - moves and evolves from time to time.

When we choose to use Feng Shui to arrange and decorate our living spaces we feel better. We can consider that the living energy flows in such a way as to interact with us in a positive way. When we use the Principles to decorate our homes and offices we increase our productivity and our feelings of peace. Our guests feel welcomed and our clients are easily attuned to our ideas.

Chic & Sleek Super Sphere Grows Fish

BiOrb with Silver Metal Trim & Base

This is the fish tank I dreamt of, so I went on an internet search, and I found it! Special design features 360 degree viewpoints. It is crystal clear and stays that way longer courtesy of its five-stage system.

It utilizes organic, mechanical and chemical filtration to keep things clear for months to come. Change the filter easily because it is a simple filter cartridge. The filter sits pretty well hidden at the bottom.

Enjoy everything from the fish beauty, their gentle swimming movements cause that gorgeous fan-shaped swish of their trails and fins, not to mention the gentle curves of their graceful bodies.

Set it anywhere that you can see the tiny water bubbles move up the center column because there is nothing to interfere with your view! This little bowl comes in larger sizes too - up to 16 gallons. Imagine that on your coffee table - anywhere that you have the table for it. www.fishtanksdirect.com
