Going Bananas over a Cure
Lets start with its medicinal favoritism for warts! Yep, the crazy medicine men of the Umatilla Indian Tribe claim a wart can be cured by placing a piece of the banana's skin yellow side up on the wart for two days. Wish I would have known this in college...........
Outside of its tribal uses banana's help cure and/or prevent the following aliments: strokes, stress (for more on curing stress Click Here!), seasonal affective disorder, ulcers, weight control, anxiety (really, I'll show you Click Here!), shot nerves, itching mosquito bites, morning sickness, heartburn, hangovers, constipation, high blood pressure, anemia, depression (how you ask Click Here!), and lack of energy.
So, I am left to think--had I just listened to my mother back in the day and ate a banana for breakfast and lunch--I may have not lost all of my hair, inherited a bad back, recked my car, lost so many basketball games, had to have so many root canals, seen Timmy for my penicillin shot, spent so much time on the crapper, lost all of my front teeth, and may have overcome my fear of flying.
Its all in the banana.....
Treat Anxiety before Dinner Is Ready, I Swear!
New Anxiety Treatment, Is this You?

The University Counseling Center has released their finding on a NEW ANXIETY TREATMENT technique that breaks the mental disorder into specific categories based on the symptoms presented.
Now you can identify your anxiety tier and treat your anxiety with a NEW TECHNIQUE before dinner is finished tonight.
Let us focus on the first of three clusters;
Cluster One is defined as tension, stress and dread. Yes, we have all been here. Tension headaches and dread are a normal part of everyday until my wife pointed out this NEW TREATMENT.
Catch tension before it starts; Don't listen when worry comes a' callin'. You must first learn that worry is a habit with a neurobiological underpinning. Then apply relaxation to counteract the tension that is building up. This 'Don't Listen' method decreases the tension by combining a decision to ignore the voice of worry with a cue for the relaxation state.
Finally in the time before dinner; don't run for the medicine cabnet! Instead let me show you how to reverse worry, eliminate stress and relax your mind before you take your first bite.
You can't afford to not research this NEW ANXIETY TREATMENT.
Stress Management: Its How We Handle it!
by Jeff Herring
"A diamond is simply a lump of coal that handled stress very well."
This is the quote with which I begin many of my stress mastery seminars.
If you are alive, you are experiencing some level of stress. It's a sign we are alive. In fact, the only people with no stress at all are in the cemetery.
As human beings, we are hard wired both psychologically and physically, to have a very basic reaction to stress. It's called the fight or flight response.
We tend to respond to stress by either fighting or fleeing from it. Since fighting is not a very adaptable or legal response in our society, we tend to flee instead.
We take flight and flee into anxiety, depression, hypertension, addiction and other unhealthy behaviors intended to run away from our stress.
Family physician Dr. Karl Hempel says that a significant number of his patients each week are dealing with a stress related or stress induced illness.
So it is clearly a matter of how we respond to and attempt to manager our stress that make the difference.

Going Bananas for B Vitamins: Stress Free
Why this yellow fruit can help anxiety!
The words on your cereal box and your mother's good advice both involve vitamin B. The B vitamins are a group of eight individual vitamins, often referred to as the B-complex vitamins. In this article, we will take a look at how the B vitamins work so you can begin to understand why Kellogg's and your mother made sure you included these essential vitamins in your diet. We'll also look at some of the more serious conditions that can result from B vitamin deficiencies. The B-complex vitamins are actually a group of eight vitamins, which include:
thiamine (B1)
riboflavin (B2)
niacin (B3)
pantothenic acid (B5)
pyridoxine (B6)
cyanocobalamin (B12)
folic acid
biotin
These vitamins are essential for:
The breakdown of carbohydrates into glucose (this provides energy for the body)
The breakdown of fats and proteins (which aids the normal functioning of the nervous system)
Muscle tone in the stomach and intestinal tract
Skin
Hair
Eyes
Mouth
Liver
Some doctors and nutritionists suggest taking the B-complex vitamins as a group for overall good health. However, most agree that the best way to get our B vitamins is naturally -- through the foods we eat!
Zoloft Yard Gnome
My Experience on Zoloft
We've all seen them; the dreaded, sometimes creepy, and never worthy of their position--Yard Gnome! Having experienced a great deal of anxiety related to "anti-anxiety" medications, I felt it important to share my story behind my travels with Zoloft. Of course this blog is not meant to scare anyone or detour you from anti-anxiety medication if your doctor has adviced you other wise. In fact, it is extremely imporant to check with your docter before making any changes concerning medication.Ah.....Ugggg....where to begin. Over a year ago I had a major reaction to the anti-anxiety (by the way "anti-anxiety & anti-depressive" can be used in the same lens when talking about SSRI's) medication Paxil--which my doctor prescribed after I went in complaining about sleeplessness. Nonetheless, six medications later I wound up with a prescription of the anti-depression medication staple--Zoloft. Looking for any means to help me, I was desperate (those with anxiety can attest to this sense of desperation) I elected to try this "Yard Gnome" that seemingly popped up around every corner.
"The staple of anti-depressive medication was beginning to take the face of a "yard gnome"; creepy, avaliable but frowned upon, and full of unease."
Two days into the start of my dosage I began to experience some major feelings of depression, loss of interest in the world, weird muscle jerks, hair loss, hot flashes and above all my insomnia had gotten worse. I had fallen victum to every major side effect zoloft was home to. Upon questioning my doctor about these strange happenings, he assured me these side effects would pass. Four months later they still had not lessoned, in fact now I was also having trouble with weird electrical shocks running up my spine after physical workouts, strange (really strange) dreams, and a rash had begun to appear on my back and upper arms. Guess what? I still had the anxiety! The staple of anti-depressive medication was beginning to take the face of a "yard gnome"; creepy, avaliable but frowned upon, and full of unease. It wasn't until I took control of my feelings slowely weined myself off of Zoloft and followed the programs and steps I've included in this blog that I began to feel "normal" again. It left me wondering if said SSRI's were changing the face of anxiety and depression or just masking the emotional interior, such as a yard gnome does for the neighborhood. I'd love to hear your stories about your experience with zoloft, please email them to me at helpmarcproject@gmail.com and I promise to place them on my blog if I feel my readers need to hear your story.

Prison of Fear
by Anxiety Expert Christoph Hickory
I had my first panic attack about 12 years ago when I was in high school. At the time, I had no idea what it was and I thought for sure that I was dying. After a quick trip to the emergency room and two "magic pills", I came to my senses and soaked in all the doctor had to tell me. I hadn't even heard of an panic attack before then, and I definitely didn't want to go through that again. The ER doctor mentioned that I may have to go on medication if the problem persists, but luckily I made through the rest of high school without anymore problems. Then came college life with it stresses, lack of sleep, and unhealthy habits...within a month I had my second panic attack. It had been so long since the first one that I didn't recognize it at first, and by the time I realized what was going on, it was too late. Another trip to the emergency room followed, a couple more "magic pills", and all was fine once again. This time I was referred to one of the campus doctors for a follow up. This turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes that I made during my college life, and I made a lot of them!
The doctor's first reaction before doing any kind of tests was to start me on an SSRI. I had heard some limited things about SSRI's, and none of it was good so I was definitely resistant at first. I ask about those "magic pills" they gave me in the hospital, but he wasn't going for that. So I walked out with a prescription in hand for a popular SSRI with very little explanation from him on how it would all work.
I didn't fill the prescription at first. I wasn't to keen on having to take a pill everyday when I woke up in the morning, but one panic attack later and it began, the reason why I am sitting here today writing this article.
Nothing really came of it at first, but that was expected. But after about a month, I felt noticeably different and friends were commenting that I lacked the kind of emotion that I once had. I didn't get excited about anything anymore, it was almost like I didn't care. But the real kicker was yet to come, and it really caught me by surprise. Let's just say it was hard being in the midst of my college "career" and having absolutely no emotional drive. That's something that I didn't handle very well.
I had made the decision about six months later that the SSRI had to go. So I took it upon myself to stop taking it and just deal with the panic attack in my own way. That was the beginning of my week in hell! And it had nothing to do with the panic attack. The withdrawals from the medicine were excruciating. It was like nothing that I had ever felt before. I started out being noticeably agitated but the quickly became the least of my problems. That was when the "shocks" set in a couple of days later. Every part of my body felt electrified and not in a good way. These painful "shocks' ran through my body every time I moved. The only relief I had was to lay completely still with my eyes closed for very long periods of time. I had hoped that if I could make it through a couple of days of this it would go away. Not even close! It just got worse and worse. I came to the realization that the only way to make them go away was to start taking the SSRI again. At that point, I was so miserable that I knew that I had no other choice.
So I went through the rest of college with my bottle of SSRI in hand, very bitter about the fact that the doctor never mentioned to me once that I would become "addicted" to this medication. I stuck with it though, because I couldn't handle the thought of going through the withdrawals again. As time went by, I came to realize something else about Paxil. My body was building up a tolerance to it and after a while I would start feeling the "shocks" even though I hadn't stopped taking it. This was apparently a sign that I needed to have my dosage increased.
That is how it went for 8 years! The first thing I would think about every time I took a trip was "Do I have my anxiety control", I felt like a slave to it. Believe or not, there is a happy ending to this story. And ironically, it started at the doctor's office, but it had nothing to do with the doctor. I met a lady in the waiting room and I started talking to her (that's what I do when I get nervous, and the doctor's office makes me nervous). She was there because she was getting "weened" off her SSRI, which she had been taking almost as long I as was. She explained that she had found a program that taught her a natural way to handle her anxiety, and now she was well on her way to being Paxil-free. Needless to say, I was very jealous, I found out all the information that I could and we went our separate ways.

- Jesse started looking online for a website that would help an agoraphobic work from the comfort of his or her home. After endless searching and coming up empty handed, he started his own website "Money Maker For Agoraphobics". He started by going to webstarts.com where he was able to obtain a website absolutely free. After this he spent a little time building the look of his website. He then decided that it did no good for him to have a website if no one was going to see it and arranged to bring some traffic to his site. First by adding his websites URL to a few good search engines for free, using FreeWebSubmission.com and then using a few other great resources. After this he had to find a way to bring money in to support not only himself and his children but also to support his website to help other agoraphobics. You can find out just how he accomplished this, and more, by going to his website: http://s1.webstarts.com/MoneyMakerForAgoraphobics/

- Found your lens and found it very interesting. I am looking for lenses and sites on anxiety and panic as I have just created a lens on the same myself. You have done a great job with this and I hope that we may be able to share some information. The banana theme is a great one. I have always loved bananas and knew they were healthy, but the added boost to help with anxiety and panic is an added bonus.
5 bananas and a lensroll to my lens as well.
