Banjo-Kazooie Video Game for N64

Hi all you Bears and Bregulls!

Welcome to the intro scene from Nintendo 64's Game Banjo-Kazooie!

With Banjo the Bear (with an assist from Kazooie the Bregull) the game starts out on a view of a strange passageway.

The door at the end of the corridor opens, and you see an evil witch by the name of Gruntilda (a.k.a. Grunty). The ugly green hag is brewing up some evil, it seems, and she is snarling to her cauldron.

At first it seems that there aren't any other girls in the world, for her cauldron, Dingpot, says that she is the most beautiful girl in the land! ..."but....er.....there's this girl...." and the Grunt goes nuts! Dingpot tells the hag all she needs to know, and she mounts her broom and flies out of her lair.

Meanwhile...

The (bear) girl of whom Dingpot spoke (Tooty), is running home to her "lazy brother",banjo (as in banjo-kazooie), when at the gate to her house, out of a mole-hill, comes Bottles, the near-sighted mole. He asks Tooty what is going on.

As it turns out, Banjo had said that when he wakes up, then they'll go on an adventure! What fun (Tooty doesn't know what a crazy adventure she'll get!)!

"Is that your brother, Tooty?"
"Where is Mr. Mole? I can't see him....."
and wouldn't you know it, but it wasn't Banjo (or even a bear)!

The evil hag zooms out of the sky!

Tooty somehow fights back long enough to get some humorous dialog in.

The racket irritates Kazooie and she freaks out and yells to Banjo to wake up. Then Banjo wakes up to Kazooie in her backpack falling off the coat-hanger! Banjo walks out and finally you are in control of the game play!(took long enough!)

Now it's time for the player to get a chance to kick some witch backside!

Grunty's Lair - First Floor

Okay, you're in the witch's lair.

Take a left as soon as you get in and jump up the ledges and snatch your very first jiggy(;-D!).

Next go into the tunnel that you can walk in (later on: use the talon trot to go up the steep slope) and go up to the picture that has only one puzzle piece missing and stand on the huge golden jiggy on the floor. "Bottlebreath" will tell the bear and bird how to use it. Just press the A button to put the jiggy piece you have into the puzzle.

This will open the door to "MUMBOS MOUNTAIN!"

Spiral Hill

And out of the house we go!

Walk Banjo with the control stick to the mole-hill that has Bottles in it (remember the cinema scene!), and he will pop out, and fill Banjo in on what happened while he was sleeping. Then the mole will propose that he teaches you moves and asks if you want to get your moves without going all over the area.

Answer that you want him to teach them by you going all over the place. The rewards he gives you will increase your max honey combs! Start by going forwards to the next mole hill and push the B button. bottles will pop up and brief you on using the C buttons. Then go right and then up the small hill to the right of the path.

Bottles is up there and he will teach you the three basic attacks. They will come in handy, trust me. the rat-a-tat rap attack will actually help kill the witch later on in the game. Then go in a counter-clockwise direction around spiral mountain. The only honey comb you won't get is a one up a tree. It is under the bridge and to the left a bit. Then, with all the honey combs and moves under your belt, go up the mountain and talk to Bottles. If you didn't get all the moves, he wont fix the bridge, so get 'em all. Once the bridge is fixed, go across and watch the cinema scene that tells of what Grunty is going to do to Tooty...

MUMBO'S MOUNTAIN

Enter the bear and bird! Now on this level, you get 3 new moves , 2 new friendly characters, 2 new items, (gasps for air) and 1 mini-boss!(whew!)

When you come into Mumbo's Mountain, Bottles tells of his new moves available right off the bat(although he doesn't tell what and where they are...). Go over the bridge and avoid Bigbutt the Bull while you go past his area.

The bee box will do some humorous dialog but if you attack it you will make it blow up, shaddup and even give up! (3 honeycombs that is!) and don't worry! No bees in any bee box! (yet!) When you see an uncomfortably large ape named Congo, you're where you need to be. He will give you a bit of jaw about it being hisorange tree. Well he is standing on it and you cant get him down with any move... Well, for now, go past him and talk to the small monkey name Chimpy. He whines about being hungry for a bit. Well, we'll help the little fellow. Go back to Congo and stand on the orange boxes and wait for the big lug to make that swishy noise that he makes when he throws an orange and then RUN!!! If an orange hits a box, it will melt the box and Congo will yell at you. Get all of the boxes to win a jiggy! Then, climb up Congos tree to get the orange for little Chimpy, who will in turn give you a boost up to Bottles and a jiggy! 2 down! 8 to go!
