President Barack Obama - History is Forever Changed

January 20th, 2009. A day to remember as Barack Obama, an African-American man born to a father who imigrated from Kenya, was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Inauguration Day 2009 was full of hope as more than 1.8 million people from all walks of life and nationalities gathered together to witness and experience the most viewed inauguration in history. The day was filled with hope, inspiration, tears of joy, happiness, and faith. The country came together for a day that will forever be etched in the minds of those who saw the day unfold and who dreamed about a day when this would come to pass, and who never envisioned that it would happen in their lifetime.
The day was a day of celebration for Barack Obama and all that his vision stands for in the eyes of all Americans.

It all officially began in Novemebr when in an unprecedented election 2008, Barack Obama became the first African American to be elected President. Election night proved to be a powerful evening full of hope and optimism. The country was looking for a change and Barack, in his acceptance speech reiterated the "Yes, We Can" slogan. Americans of all ethnic backgrounds stood side-by-side, some with tears in their eyes, as they witnessed the historic moment in American history. We were here, we saw the power of the people. We spoke, we wanted a change, and only in America can our voices be heard. America is excited and can hardly wait to see the changes that will bring the economy and the state of the country to a better place. Congratulations to President-Elect Barack Obama and his family.

Barack Obama is the man behind the "Change We Can Believe In" Slogan. But, who is he? where did he come from? and where does he plan on taking the US now that hie is the 44th President of the United States.

Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. was born to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. and Ann Dunham in Hawaii. Obama met his wife, Michelle Robinson, in June 1989 when he was employed as a summer associate at the Chicago law firm of Sidley Austin. Assigned for three months as Obama's adviser at the firm, Robinson joined him at group social functions, but declined his initial offers to date. They began dating later that summer, became engaged in 1991, and were married on October 3, 1992. The couple's first daughter, Malia Ann, was born on July 4, 1998, followed by a second daughter, Natasha ("Sasha"), in 2001.

Throughout the campaign Obama has emphasized the issues of ending the war in Iraq, increasing energy independence, and providing universal health care, at one point identifying these as his top three priorities, according to Wikipedia.

Inauguration 2009 - History, happiness, hope for America.

The Inauguration of our 44th President of the United States was all that it was expected to be and more. The first African-American to be elected President was sworn in. The hopes and dreams of an entire group of people came to fruition. Tuesday, January 20th, just one day after the Martin Luther King, Jr. national holiday, Obama made his inauguration acceptance speech and all American eyes and ears were tuned in to his every word. He talked about the expectations of and the nedd for change to get the United States back to the powerful country that we know it is and will be again. Obama has his work cut out for him as he begins his new job as president. His focus will be on the economic crisis and the focus and hard work that is going to take place over the next four years to turn the economy back around.

Obama stands for the underdog. He stands for hope for our economic future and hope for everyone who has ever felt they couldn't achieve a goal because of their racial background or the color of their skin. History is changing because one man set out to achieve his desires and goals. Lincoln was sworn in almost 100 hundred years ago this month. What a way to come full circle with the inauguration of our first African-American President. Go Obama!

Barack Obama - an inspirational undertaking.

Barack Obama was an inspiration to all as he ran for the Presidency. During his run for President, he resided in the Southside of Chicago and people on the Southside and in other urban places throughout America had great pride in the fact that a black man was running for President. Obama was seen as the new Martin Luther King, Jr.. He gave minorities, especially the African-American, hope. The most inspired are the youth.

More children were asking their parents about the black man on TV. When they respond that he is the first African-American to run for the President of the United States, and then became President, the wheels start turning. That's pretty darn impressive that he was the Democratic Party nominee and then became the president. Children get inspired and feel that if this guy can do it, so can they. Every parent should talk to their child about Obama and all that this historical event stands for with regards to the future of the presidency. If Hillary Clinton were in Obama's place, I know she would equally be an inspiration to many young females, as she probably already is since she made it as far as she did and is now still politically active.
