Being Christian Does Not Make a Man Perfect!
As a born again Christian myself, I am very excited that we have a President who is not afraid to talk about his faith, not afraid to defend his faith, and most of all, doesn't indicate that faith cannot have a part in how a person in government makes decisions. President Barack Obama has declared that he is proud of his Christianity. He states that he is a man of faith. It's a good thing for the leader of the Free World to be on God's side. He is wise, intelligent, and courageous. He is "not ashamed" (proud of) the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And if you are a Christian, instead of criticizing him for the flaws you believe he has, there should be a concerted effort on your part to hold him up in prayer and diligently seek God's favor on his life. After all, whether you voted for him or not, he was duly elected the President of the United States.
There is lots of criticism surrounding President Obama's declaration that he will uphold the Supreme Court's decision on abortion. In America we have the legislature, the courts, and WE the PEOPLE. Want to change abortion laws? Change them. If people are pro-life, then it is time to stand-up and be counted. Don't blame a man who has declared to uphold the laws.
What Does He Say?
What Does He Do?
No one is perfect!
With the postulation that everyone has flaws, President Barack Obama has exhibited character traits of honesty, integrity, persistence, longsuffering, charity, responsbile stewardship. From a Christian perspective, I am convinced that he is living out his beliefs.
Is President Barack Obama living out his Christian walk?

Thanks for your opinion. Frankly, what I see in President Obama is a Christian who is like many of us. Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life published a controversial survey in which 70 percent of Americans said that they believed religions other than theirs could lead to eternal life. They also found that only 39 percent of Christians believe that the Bible is the literal word of God, and 18 percent think that it's just a book written by men and not the word of God at all. So, I believe that President Barack Obama is in line with the majority of American population. I don't happen to agree with him. But, these numbers come from our friends and neighbors who ALSO say that they are Christian.

I do so appreciate your passion. I believe that God is faithful and that he is fully engaged and in control. I took a look at the website you suggested. Though interesting, I believe that each man is called into account for his own actions. So, the fact that President Obama listened to this rhetoric is not nearly as important as his actions are.
As far as his position on abortion, he indicated that "regardless of his personal viewpoint on abortion" that he would uphold the law. The abortion is a very divisive issue that is more effectively fought against on our knees and in the Christian ministries. I have four daughters and one son. I do not believe any of them would get an abortion, though it is legal. I personally teach them about purity, integrity, honor, and the sanctity of marriage. If more people would give as much passion to teaching their children as they do to divisive politics, the rate of abortion would go down. Whether people "choose" to believe it or not, it is not possible to legislate away abortion. Abortion, like poverty, has always been with us. It will always be with us. If someone wants to get an abortion they will --"illegally" if necessary. If for some reason they "can't," they will throw the baby away, kill the baby after it's born, or neglect and abuse the child. Abortion legislation is NOT THE ANSWER! The answer is only found in Jesus! The same people who insist on "demonizing" people (who have unregenerated minds), should according to Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God," maybe the heart of the king would be moved (as it was in the book of Esther).
A man is only responsible for what he knows. As you have pointed out, he is most probably influenced by a "different" gospel. We are to pray and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. President Obama is a very learned and wise man in a very practical and pragmatic way. I believe that our continual prayers and cries out to God to give our President spiritual discernment and wisdom, to open the eyes of his heart, to fully step into the "man of God" shoes that God created for him to fill, from the foundation of the world, will do more to help this country than any name-calling, put-downs, or trash-talking.
As you quoted: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (KJV, 2 Chronicles). That has never been more true. But, we cannot look to President Obama to be the one to do it. It is we ourselves, each and every Christian in our nation, needs to do just that: humble OURselves, PRAY, SEEK His face, turn from OUR wicked ways!
It is so easy to see the speck in someone else's eye, but let us not forget the PLANK in our own. The bottom line is we are called to LOVE - no matter what. No matter how we feel about the situation - We are called to LOVE. No matter what it appears to be or what it looks like - We are called to LOVE. We are Christ followers. He loved men into wholeness. That is our charge, also.

As Christians, our job is to pray for the President. God alone sets up kings (presidents). Daniel 2:20-22 (King James Version) states: Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
As everyone well knows, President Obama inherited many of America's ills. He is not running the government single-handed, nor without the advice and wisdom from great minds of this country. His inadequacies, as you see them, make him "un-Christian." However, one could say the same thing about the anger and hostility being spewed about President Barack Obama. Jesus was not a politician, he was a prayer warrior. He was continuously on his knees. God still answers prayer.
No one has every been made better by overwhelming criticism. Jesus showed love and compassion. As Christians, we are convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit. When we condemn people, instead of encouraging them, we are displaying the same behaviors we claim are "un-Christian."

As Christians, we are called to love one another and to pray for one another. That is just as true for our President as for our family members. As each and every one of us makes mistakes (big and small), we are not to judge others. I believe, as you do, that both abortion and homosexuality are wrong. Remember Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
I am positive that I am not a perfect person. I have not yet attained. Neither has President Obama. Instead of being judgmental, let's lift our President in prayer.

I could say much on this topic. I have yet to see a leader who consistently stands up for honorable morals. I don't ever remember, in my 27 short years of life, a president who ever shared the gospel publicly, (Jesus Christ' Lordship and saving power and our salvation through His death and resurrection).
We are living in very evil days. Before Christ came we could live as honorable people who served as examples of faith. Now God wants us to have compassion for the lost (unbelievers). I am against our current president as much as our recent ones. But realize that we have a duty to pray for the men who hold so much power over us and to respect them as God's tool of judgement. There are worse things than leaders who don't see things as we do or even martial law. We could be punished for unfaithfulness to God if we refuse to love in every circumstance. Jesus told us to love our enemies and to bless those who persecute us. Look at what He did on the cross.
Why do I feel Barack Obama lacks proper faith? First, his inability to address the issue of a faithless life to those who are doubting. Second, the fact that we do not hear much about him being a Christian. It's been over a year and we see the same cycle repeating itself. Campaign through spending, get elected, do things MY way, blame the Republicans (or else the Republicans blame the Democrats). Third, when something does get accomplished HE takes a vast amount of credit. And a distant fourth would be a doubt of an enthusiasm for evangelism, if he has any at all. Now I say distant because he has a job to do and it is not evangelism. But I can't imagine a fulfilling life in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ without the desire to tell the world about it. I can't picture him doing this at all. Keep in mind that I'm not saying that any other president has done this any better. But when the Holy Spirit is working in ones life amazing changes are happening at a rapid pace until we become very much like Christ. Any questions e-mail me at fonsecarj27@yahoo.com.

I do pray for Obama. That God would bring him to the Damascus road. God brings rulers for different reasons, he allowed Saul to rise to power, he allowed king Ahab and Jezebel to ascend to power. Rulers are not infallible or unquestionable. Believe me, I had my criticisms of Bush....
The men Obama has surrounded himself with are far from good men. Cass Sunstein, believes in forced abortion. Van Jones, is a radical communist. Just recently 2 different appointed officials praised the dictator Mao, one calling this genocidal dictator one of her two political inspirations, the other agreeing with Mao's statement "political power comes from the barrel of a gun."
I actually did start out with an open mind way back in 2008 when I started looking into Obama. Started with his own book and that of his church (theology is important to me). But now I shudder when I think where Obama is taking this country, and after seeing the "spiritual" guidance he received for 20 years. If you are interested in what I found, its here:
http://americana83.com/2008/06/30/dr-cones-black-liberation-theology-love-redefined/
I ask an honest question: How do I encourage a man who mocks God and boldly and repeatedly goes against the clear moral teachings of scripture?
Jesus was no politician, praise God! If he was, he'd have never talked of Hell, never been so divisive (I am the way...no man comes to the father but by me), and we would have no hope because he never would have taken the fall for us in gruesome death.
The Bible talks about so many things, one of which is righteousness. a man was sent to cry against David when he committed sin. the 3 men in the fiery furnace rejected and rebuked the king of Babylon for his idolatry, under threat of death. I do not engage in this because I think I am perfect, or to make myself look good. I seriously believe he is guiding this country into perdition. I pray for him, i pray for this country.
As far as declaring to uphold laws, Obama has fought to defend and expand abortion "rights," he has a perfect rating with planned parenthood, and has no moral opposition to the barbaric practices, even going so far as to allow hospitals in chicago to let abortion survivors born alive after a botched aboriton die. Not even NARAL supported such a cause. If the cause is social justice, how can a man, who's conscience has no qualms about letting the utterly defenseless and voiceless be murdered gruesomely, how can he advance the cause of the disadvantaged? He makes like Pilate, attempting to wash his hands of a crime he has aided and abetted.
6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (KJV, Proverbs)
One last thought, by asking "is Prez B.O. living out his Christian walk?" You are asking people to pass judgment as to whether or not his behavior is Christan, or meets the Bible standard for someone trying to genuinely follow after Christ. My short answer again, reading his book Dreams, looking at how he has voted on moral issues, looking at who he surrounds himself with, how he treats his enemies, his words and actions ignoring or demeaning Christianity, I say no. he is not living out the Christian walk.
"Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." We can only see that which is outward. This verse is multifaceted, it tells us that God sees our intentions, and it tells us that other people will see how we live our lifes, and to those of us who profess Christ, our lives will be watched by those around us. Our testimonies can either open doors to lead others to Christ, or present a sordid, hypocritical, worldly X-tianity. So that people see a Christianity without Christ.
I don't want to see judgment fall on Obama, I want to see him won for Christ.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (KJV, 2 Chronicles)

He is living out his beliefs, but they have nothing to do with the God of the bible. The only honest thing he said in the course of his campaign was that he would "fundamentally change" this country. His showed his charity by ending the successful voucher program for poor DC students. He showed his integrity by leaving our men without a goal of victory to fight a war where "victory is not a comfortable word" he showed his honesty by promising transparency but delivering the most opaque admin ever. He showed his responsible stewardship by spending more in a few months (that we don't have) than EVERY president in the history of the US, he showed his charity by seeking to bring "prolonged detention" into the legal framework of the US. He is persistent and adamantly pushing a destructive agenda that will bankrupt this country and suppress our freedoms. He has done everything he can to strengthen the "imperial presidency" he railed so hard against.
He celebrates Islam, he reveres the Qu'ran. He denounces the Christian heritage of the US repeatedly, he trash-talks the US whenever he goes abroad...
Now a little thing: He gave a speech at a catholic university, and demanded that the name of Jesus (albeit in Latin) be covered up.
"He who denies me before man, him will I deny before my father." -Jesus
