Barbie turns art into fashion with designer Linda Kyaw and The Barbie Museum Collection. Three well known and easily recognizable works of art were chosen from Vincent Van Gogh (The Starry Night ), Leonardo da Vinci (Mona Lisa), and Gustav Klimt (Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I) to start the collection. These are Pink Label dolls.

Below you'll find these dolls for sale as well as the art that inspired them.

Barbie Doll Inspired by Vincent van Gogh

BARBIE Collector Doll
Inspired by Vincent van Gogh

$34.95

Vincent van Gogh's Impressionist brush strokes of his masterpiece The Starry Night are represented with the doll's wavy hair and the print on her strapless cocktail dress, which also has a black velveteen Cypress tree accent. Her look is completed with circular earrings and molded metallic sandals.

"When translating the painting to fashion, Linda found the challenge was "to make it trendy, to fuse the original painting with an edgy fashion dynamic." The final ensemble, re-imagined as a romantic, full-skirted dress, perfectly reflects the swirling night sky overlooking Saint-Remy"

Barbie Doll Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci

BARBIE Collector Doll
Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa is imagined head to toe from her mysterious smile, long flowing hair, and brocade gown with deep rich hues of gold green and amber featuring a laced satin bodice with beautifully detailed sleeves.

""Everyone knows the Mona Lisa from the waist up," she explains, "so I used the color palette of the painting's background to conceptualize the rest of her dress." The result is a stunning green, brown and gold-hued renaissance gown with rich brocade shoulders. Linda adds, "Barbie's face paint was applied by talented painter Ei Fong, who perfectly captured the famous Mona Lisa smile!"" -barbiecollector.com

I was just admiring these on Amazon. Wonderful to find all three of them so beautifully featured here! Each is very different and has her own charm, love the detailed dress of the Renaissance one but the Klimt lady has to be one of the most creative Barbies ever!

I love how you added the art work/posters that represents each doll. It looks really nice. :)

These are pretty cool. Is the moon on her back on the Starry Night dress? It's not on her butt is it?
