My Barbie Dream House, a Dream Come True.
I remember when the Barbie dream house was being advertised on TV. That is all I wanted that year for Christmas. I remember unwrapping that big box and waiting as my mom and dad put it together. The house came fully loaded with furniture so I didn't have to wait to collect all the pieces. I was able to start playing right away. That was certainly the best Christmas ever! It was my dream come true!
I spent hours playing with my dream house. I remember in the summer my friend and I would load up all my Barbie stuff in the wagon to take over to her house and play on the deck for the afternoon.
Not sure whatever happened to my dream house. I know my parents kept it for a long time. I think if I still had it around I would definitely be found making excuses to play Barbies with my little girl. I think it was the best Barbie house ever made. It was big and had lots of rooms for decorating and rearranging.

History of the Barbie Dream House
1960-2008
In 1960 Barbie lived in a studio-style fold-up cardboard house. Not much room, but she was queen of her house.
In 1974 Barbie moves up! She gains a slightly more dimensional home, including five more rooms, a hot tub and an elevator!
As Barbie leaves the the '70s behind, her house becomes an entirely three-dimensional A-frame with flower boxes and skylights. Every little girl wanted one of these & I was a lucky girl to get one.
In 1984 Barbie gives up her Dream House for a Dream Cottage. She is now entertaining and sleeping outdoors.
In 2008, Barbie climbs the property ladder again with a three story house. A wall-mounted flat screen, and a washer and dryer.

- I'm from Brazil and I kept my A frame dream house for 26 years.
Just waited my daughter to turn 4 and we're now playing with it.
This was certainly the better dream houve ever made!
All the furniture and details... I guess I still dream about living in a house just like that.
