Bathroom designs and Bathroom Suite Reviews

There are so many designs of bathroom suites and bathroom furniture on offer that choosing a new bathroom can be a daunting task.

This lens aims to make your life a little easier by providing some bathroom designs, suggestions, bathroom furniture reviews and bathroom suite reviews.

Hopefully by the end of this lens you will have a better idea of what style of bathroom you would like and perhaps even a specific bathroom manufacturer, bathroom brand or bathroom range in mind.

Bathroom Suites

Why choose a complete suite?

For simplicity many bathroom companies stock complete suites which usually comprise of a bathroom sink and pedestal, a bath and a toilet with cistern. They will usually have a uniform design and come in matching colours.
Choosing a complete bathroom suite means that the look of your bathoom items is consistent, although it does not afford you the luxury of having a bathroom that is 100% customised to your tastes.

A stylish contemporary suite such as the Synergy Olympiad (shown above) would look fantastic in a modern house or a newly refurbished period house where a clean, angular look is required. Coloured bathroom suites tend to date more rapidly so choosing a white suite may be a better long term choice. A white bathroom suite also tends to blend more seamlessly with the decoration.

As such, white bathroom suites are also worth considering when the bathroom decoration or bathroom design is using strong accent colours or focal items such as designer taps, designer showers or designer radiators.

Purchasing a complete bathroom suite can also be cheaper than buying each item individually, saving you money to spend on a few luxury 'statement' items.

Statement or Feature Items

Any good bathroom design will incorporate a small selection of 'statement' items that provide the finishing touches to a new bathroom.
These items are often selected as they reflect the chosen design ideas in their purest form. They are used to tie all the other elements together and make the design cohesive.

The 'statement' item(s) may be a designer tap, a designer bath, designer shower enclosure or perhaps a designer radiator that really catches the eye.

The Victoria and Albert Como bath shown above is an elegantly styled, free-standing bath that would be the perfect focal point for a large family bathroom or in a clean, minimalist designer bathroom.

Designer Radiators

Warming up your bathroom with an eye-catching feature radiator.

Designer radiators are an ideal item to choose when you are looking to add a little design flair into a new bathroom design. Modern designer radiators perfectly blend form and function, keeping your bathroom warm whilst providing a real feature item.

A designer radiator such as the Aeon S-Type radiator (shown above) will perfectly complement most modern, contemporary bathroom suites.

Feature radiators are often used to add a greater feeling of quality into a bathroom. This approach is especially useful when trying to keep the overall cost of a new bathroom to a minimum.
By choosing carefully it is possible to create a truly stunning bathroom on a budget. Try teaming a crisp, modern, inexpensive bathroom suite with feature items such as a designer radiator and a set of feature taps to create a look similar to the one shown above.

Feature Taps

Add design flair and perceived quality to your bathroom with some feature taps.

Taps are often overlooked when planning and designing a new bathroom. However they are one of the most important items in any bathroom; we come into direct contact with them and they are used daily. A set of quality taps can add a perception of greater quality to the rest of the bathroom suite.

When you are in contact with an item multiple times per day it makes sense that the item should provide a sense of quality and durability. Which is why shrewd designers often spend a little less on the cost of a bathroom suite in order to spend a little extra on the 'touch points' such as designer taps and designer shower heads / shower valves.
