The future of online FPS - Battlefield 3.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, n00bs and pwnz0rs, the long time awaited announcement has finally arrived. DICE has made our dreams come true by confirming that a successor to the popular classic: Battlefield 2 will be coming to our PC's. To make the deal even sweeter EA has plans to release an upgraded version of their old game Battlefield 1942 called Battlefield 1943 that should keep all BF fans busy until Battlefield 3 hits the stores. The past few years have been harsh for the BF fans. DICE was releasing different versions of Battlefield for consoles and totally ignored the PC community with their silence about Battlefield 3. But the wait is over and now we enter a phase of speculations, debates, flame wars, and slowly saving money to buy that extreme graphics card that will hopefully be powerful enough to run Battlefield 3 on high settings. In the following article we will discuss everything we know so far about the upcoming title such as previews, pictures and game play footage.

The Battlefield 3 Announcement

This is how we know !!

Electronic Arts COO John Pleasants has undoubtfuly confirmed that Battlefield 3 is in development during a conference call with stock holders, according to G4. Currently any details about the game are almost nonexistent, other than the fact that it will definitely not be out as part of this fiscal year.
"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product," said Pleasants in a call with members of William Blair Growth Stock.
"Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good," he continued.

That means that DICE currently has at least three new Battlefield games in development - Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield 1943 and now the full-blow sequel, Battlefield 3. Could they be in danger of over-saturating the market with the Battlefield franchise? Hopefully the strain on the programmers won't degrade the quality of them game. We all remember the quarks that Battlefield 2 had - And history has tendency of repeating itself. All we can do is sit tight and cross our fingers.

Oh, and there's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 as well, so really there are four games in development that bear the Battlefield label. Should we be worried?

Battlefield 3 Specs / Release date disclosed?

Are they just rumors or is this really the Battlefield 3 features list?

A recent online rumor claims that a leaked DICE fact sheet about Battlefield 3 has been circulating around the internet. This could be a hype tactic or a simple rumor. Regardless it is fun to speculate and let's hope that the following features are true as they look very promising. This is not the same document that DigitalBattle released back in October, 2007.

Time to upgrade that graphics card.

Battlefield 2 brought our PCs to their knees. BF3 will do the same.
