About the Memorial Flight

The BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) is a display flight of eleven aircraft, including a Lancaster, Spitfires and Hurricanes.

Flying out of RAF Conigsby, the flight actually has eleven aircraft, but normally displays as three (The Lancaster and two fighters) flying in formation. It started in 1953 in Biggin Hill with four aircraft and has grown since. All of the aircraft in the Flight have specific history within the RAF. The picture is a still taken at the Bournemouth Airshow 2008.
