Because of changing circumstances in mum's life she does not have the time or energy to properly care for Bear. She is mentally and physically exhausted.
Bear needs a quiet home. A fenced yard would be great. If you work from home, are retired or can take her to work with you it would be ideal.
She is very even tempered, sweet, cuddly and gets along great with other dogs.
Walking her on the leash is a pleasure but she also needs off leash walks. She is the ideal jogging or walking partner.
I Am Listening
When Bear was younger she spent a lot of time in a crate in an apartment. She missed walking and playing. She does not like being enclosed in small spaces or being grabbed by the collar.
When spoken to Bear is attentive and like most dogs needs a gentle but firm handler.
Walks and Treats in the Park
On her first off leash walk, Bear was like a little kid in a candy store. Running, running and ... more running. Yet she always stayed insight.
This is now her third off leash walk and she stays closer to her people and is willing to slow down a bit ... especially when it is treat time.
Smiles and Wagging Tail
Bear likes to interact with other dogs and is very playful.
She could have a tendency to run after deers. So it is better to have her on the leash around houses and high density area.
Cuddly inside the house and outside
In her previous home, the lack of exercise created anxiety and tension. Since being walked off leash, it has not been an issue.
A little massage at the end of the walk

Bear currently lives on Pender Island (Gulf Islands) BC Canada.
