Bedouin Tribal Jewelry

Exquisite Accessories from the Desert

Much of the silver jewelry created and worn by Bedouin tribal peoples has ceremonial if not religious meaning. Many pieces are made especially for weddings and other important rituals.

Traditionally, most Yemeni silversmiths were Jewish. Their work influenced jewelry in much of the Arab and North African regions.

I have only just begun to explore this segment of the world's tribal jewelry, but so far have been astounded by its quality of craftsmanship and sheer beauty.
