Beginner Piano Lessons

When you first sit at the piano you may be daunted by the prospect of learning, especially if you have never played an instrument before. It actually can be a lot easier than you imagine. As an encouragement to getting you started I have put together a short video guide called How to learn the piano in under 10 minutes (see the video further down this page).

In order to make your practicing more enjoyable you need to be playing real music. Sometime the traditional exercises given to most piano students can be boring and lack inspiration.

You will however make lots of mistakes at the beginning. You will fumble and play many wrong notes but the more you practice the the less errors you will make and your playing will become naturally smoother.

Steps to Get Started:

Find out where the notes on the keyboard are
Learn some basic chords
Apply some rhythm

To be able to play real sounding accompaniment to tons of songs that all you have to do. Chord charts on the sheet music or in the fake books will help, and later you will be able to play by ear picking out the chords for yourself. You will even find yourself able to incorporate melody lines into your chordal accompaniment for real professional sounding music.
