Benchmade Knives

Ranked #6,675 in Sports & Recreation, #165,197 overall

Benchmade Knife Company, Inc.

Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. was originally founded in 1988 but first set up shop in 1990 in Clackamas Oregon. They began with their first knife, the Bali-Song. This butterfly knife soon became very populare and Benchmade was on its way to some amazing growth over the next 18 years.
Today, Benchmade makes knives for a fast-growing and amazingly loyal fan base who anxiously await each new creation. Their philosophy is, "Make it cool, make it solid, make it happen and definitely make it Benchmade." This philosophy shows. Every single one of their knives, whether it is a nice manual folder like the Mini-Griptilian, a butterfly knife like their Bali-Song 42, or an amazing automatic knife , you know it is made from the best of materials and the highest quality craftmanship in the industry.
Benchmade truly sets the standard in the knife world!

Benchmade Infidel 3300

Out The Front Knife Extraordinaire

The Benchmade Infidel 3300 Tactical Version and the Benchmade Infidel 3300 are both a McHenry designed Benchmade from out of this world. This OTF is built for strength and reliability. It has a patent pending double action which is absolutely amazing. You slide the button up and the blade shoots out the front and locks up tight. You slide the button back down and the blade slips back into the knife.
Some quick stats on the blade. It is 3.95" long, is .118" thick, is made from D2 Tool Steel and has a hardness of 58-61HRC. Aside from the technical jargon, what does that mean for you? It means this is one nicely sized spear point tipped blade which is strong enough to get the job done. It is also quite beautiful. The Infidel blade is double edged and comes in plain steel or in a BK1 coated version which gives you the tactical look. When you engage the blade, it locks up tight with a three point suspension tip--you won't believe how solid it locks up. It has "negligible" blade play, as the Benchmade company describes it.

The handle is nice and solid. Designed like the Presidio line, it has a bi-directional tread pattern and nicely oversized to assist those using this knife with gloved hands. Think military and police. The handle is quality.

This knife is expensive but well worth the price. If you like the concept of owning one of the best, if not the very best out the front knife on the market, get yourself one of these. You can pick one up online at BladeOps.com .

Mini-Griptilian, Benchmade 557

A High Quality Manual Folder

The Mini-Griptilian 557, manufactured by Benchmade Knife Company, is one of the best manual folder knives around. Here are some of the basics. The knife is just under 7 inches long when open and in use. The knife does come in a wide variety of styles and colors. You can get it with a partially serrated blade, with a black blade, or with a sand colored handle. This version, the 557, always has the tanto point which is one of my favorite knife blade shapes.

Here are the stats on it:

Blade Length: 2.91"
Blade Thickness: .100"
Blade Material: 154CM Stainless Steel
Blade Hardness: 58-60HRC
Blade Style: Tanto; Ambidextrous Thumb-Studs
Weight: 2.67oz.

The basic 557 comes with a plain edge, as you can see in the picture. It has nice black Valox handle scales which give you a strong, solid grip and are very light. At under 3 ounces, the knife barely registers in your pocket.

The Griptilian has a tip up pocket clip, reversible like most Benchmade knives. It does have a lanyard hole and it also has ambidextrous thumb studs. This means our lefty friends don't have to struggle with trying to get the darn blade open from the wrong side.

I love this folder. If you are looking for a good, all around carry knife, this one has it all. Plus, it's a Benchmade.

Mel Pardue Design, BEN3550

BEN3550

The Benchmade knife line (3550 Series) by Mel Pardue, are amazing. Pictured is the Coyote handle version (BEN3550SBK-703) with a partially serrated blade. This blade is also called a combo blade. If you get one with a black tactical blade, the blade has a BK1 blade coating.
The Mel Pardue's are made from the best of materials. Here is the breakdown: the blade lengthe is 2.9", the blade thickness is .090". This is a very nice blade made from 154CM stainless steel and has a hardness of 58-60. The blade tip is a spear point, one of my favorite styles other than a tanto. I like them both equally, it depends on the use I plan for the knife and the situation I am in. This perfect size knife weighs only 2.9 ounces. Talk about a light knife.
The knife comes with a black, removable tip that is set tip down. The overall length of the knife is 7.10" and closed it measures a nice 4.20". This knife carries well in your pocket. Think about a Swiss Army knife, it is just a little longer, a lot thinner, and light years better.
The combo edge blade has about half the length set as a regular plain blade and the half of the blade that is closest to the handle has an excellent serration that can be used for cutting, sawing, or just about anything you can think of.
Here are some of the features of this great auto knife. It has a slim profile for easy carry, it has non-reflective components for any tactical situations you may get into, it is made with a symmetrical handle design with a universal grip to make it just as nice for our left handed brothers and sisters. This automatic benchmade knife is one you want to have for your collection. You may just want to get two so you can have one for everyday carry as well as one for your collection. I've got my two already.

Benchmade Mini-Presidio Auto

BEN5500BK

The Benchmade Mini-Presido Auto is one of my favorite Benchmade small knives. This knife has a blade that is 2.97" long and .115" thick. It is made of 154CM stainless and has a drop point tip. At just 3.7 ounces, it carries light in your pocket.
This knife, like all the Benchmade auto knives, snaps out fast and locks up nice and tight. It has a black BK1 coated blade and the tactical effect, if you haven't caught on yet, is my favorite style. It has a plain edge.

This automatic knife opens with the Auto-Axis system. I love the way this works. It has a small slot in the knife with a ball shaped pull. You slide the pull towards your palm and the blade snaps out. There is a safety on the spine to prevent you from accidentaly firing the knife. This knife will get you through tough situations at home or out in the field. Check it out and get one for your collection.

Benchmade Bali-Song 42

High End Butterfly Knife

Benchmade has produced one of the best butterfly knives on the market in their Bali-Song 42. This knife has a ton of great features. The first thing you notice is the heft. It has the weight you want and expect from a good butterfly knife. It isn't so light that it flips too slow, but at the same time it isn't so heavy that you are constantly bashing your knuckles.
The next thing you notice with this knife, when it is in a closed and locked position, and you squeeze the handles gently together, the lock pops out and the knife is ready for action. The locking bar is spring loaded, and when you give the handles a squeeze, the bar pops straight down so it is sticking straight down from the handle. Very Nice!
Next, the materials. It has a 154-CM stainless steel blade. The handles are made from milled titanium and have a skeletonized frame style. This is one top notch blade.
The Benchmade Bali-Song 42 is a must have for any really good butterflier. I have one and absolutely love it. Get yours today, or don't and regret not having it until you do.

Benchmade H&K Nitrous Blitz

Spring Assisted Knife

Benchmade has hit a home run with this high end spring assisted knife. The H&K Nitrous Blitz is a spring assist knife with the spring built right into the liner of the knife. It pops open easily, with just enough force to get it going, and then locks up tight. What else would you expect from a Benchmade. The blade has ambidextrous thumb studs that allow you to get the blade started and then the spring takes over and opens it up the rest of the way. This is nice for leftys--they don't have to struggle with a knife made just for right-handers.
The version in the picture has G-10 handle scales with a perfect grip. It fits in your hand and you can feel that it isn't going to slip when you least expect it.
The blade is BT2 coated 154CM stainless steel. It has a combo edge, which I really like. It gives you a nice cutting edge as well as some ability to do just a little sawing if needed. The Benchmade H&K Nitrous Blitz is one great spring assisted knife. If you don't have one yet, you should come on in to BladeOps.com and get one today.
