Ben's First Garden

This lens is going to be about my son's garden. It will be updated on a regular basis, because every time something happens in the garden, I'll show everyone.

Having my son have his own garden was my husband's idea. He thought it would give him something to do, and something for him to be proud of when it's done. My husband talked him into a vegetable garden. It wouldn't have been my choice, but he is a boy after all.

For 2012

Yes, we are still doing the garden. Three years in a row now. This year, he has decided that he wants corn, green beans, strawberries, watermelon and blackberries. The blackberries and watermelon, we will have to plant outside of the garden, because it's just not big enough. You can watch what happens right along with us..

Stay Tuned

Make sure you stay tuned to find out what happens. Will this garden be a success, a failure, or somewhere in between? You'll know as soon as we do.

It's only March 13th, so we can't do anything with the garden yet. We might still get some frost. We have our choices for what's going in it picked out. That's the first step right?.

Any Comments?

Remember, this lens is a perpetual work in progress, but let me know what you think anyways. I love visitors.

Great idea for a lens. Good luck to you and your son. Not much in gardening myself. Keep forgetting the important stuff like watering... go figure.

I used to love having my own space in the garden when I was a kid. I hope your son has fun with it.

I'm right behind you both. Once you have transplanted, make sure you keep the soil moist until such time as they have taken and best of luck.
