How To Find The Best Deal and Exactly What You Are Looking For

Many people go online to find products and services. Often the reason for this is because they think they will get a bargain. And they can. But many people do not look in the right places. They over look simple strategies to help them find exactly what they are looking for.

We will explore some of the best comparison websites to look out and how to get better results from search engines.

Money Saving Tip 1

1) The first place to look as you know is on a search engine. Google in my opinon is the best as it's search results tend to be the most relevant, but Ask is also very good.

Now you are saying I know this. This is nothing new. Ok you are correct, but I bet often you do not always find what you are looking for straight away. The reason is often very simple. The search you are doing is too broad. If you are looking for a new credit cards with 0% on purchases for 15 months, then you may not immediately find it.

You will get hundreds of comparison sites offering you a whole range of credit cards, but none of them have the 0% for 15 months on purchases you are looking for. The reason is, its not that common. So be specific. Type in exactly what you are looking for. 0% 15 month purchase credit card. If there is one available, the chances are the page with it on will appear. Remember comparison websites are great if you are not fussy what you want or clueless about the subject, but not always if you have a specific idea what you want.

Money Saving Tip 2

2) Often people go straight to comparison websites such as Travelsupermarket.com or Now Credit Cards to find what they are looking for.

The thing is while these sites can be useful you need to realise something. The merchants offering the credit cards, flights, mobile phones etc pay the comparison website for every sale that was a result of the visitor going to their site. It's tracked as you click from comparison website to the merchants site.

Therefore they have a vested interest to show you only certain products. It's not the whole picture they are showing you. Comparison sites are really just online shops in disguise.

Therefore always use Google or whatever your favorite search engine is to look out exactly what you are looking for. If you cannot find it there, then look on the comparison sites.

Now if you are going to look on comparison sites, some are better than others. Here are some of my favorites.
www.pricerunner.co.uk - Very good for products. You search by the make and model of the product and get a list of suppliers of that product. The price they charge. Feedback on the suppliers. Very good site.

www.cheapflights.co.uk - Well laid out easy to use site. Also has links to other flight comparison websites, just in case you do not find what you are looking for on their site.

www.compareandsave.com - Great website for finance products. Also has lots of useful financial news and information.

Money Saving Tip 3

3) Always shop around. It's easy to be lazy about this type of thing, but if you shop around you do save money. It's a fact. Very few times do you find the best deal with the first thing you see. After all, the internet is the best place to shop around. It was designed for shopping around.

When looking on search engines don't just go on the first page, keep clicking back several pages. Do different searches to get different results.

Look on several comparison websites, not just the one. And if you do not mind leaving the house, even look in shops. Even shops can sometimes beat online prices.
