Find out more about the Fishing Tackle you need
When shopping for fly fishing tackle, try a wide range of products and brands. What feels comfortable and right to one person isn't right for another. Each fisherman has his or her favourite brands and products and you will soon learn what works for you.
An experienced Fishing Shop will be able to advise you on what you need, and answer any questions you may have. Don't be afraid to ask, we were all beginners once!
As well as a Fishing Rod, you will need a Fishing Reel, and a Fishing Line. But, the line alone will not do you much good without the perfect fly to tempt the trout or fish you are trying to catch. There is a large range of fly tying kits and accessories to choose from. Different fish respond to different flies, and different types of water, line and rod, you need to know what works best.
You will need Fishing Bait. Fly kits and accessories range include beads and eyes, body material and dubbing, capes and hackles, dubbing, fly boxes, hairs and furs, hooks, threads and floss tinsels and wires, tool vices and kits, varnishes and waxes, wings and feathers. Although this may seem daunting, and a lot to think about, it's not nearly as complicated if you can ask someone! If you're a serious fly fisher, why not see if you can find a bulk fly tying bargain pack? Each pack will give a generous amount of flies and ensures you won't run out in a hurry.
Fly hooks are another important consideration. You'll soon learn what sort of hook goes with what sort of fly and fish, in what situation. As all good fishing people know, if you are not fishing with the right hook, you reduce your chances of catching that prize fish.
But why stop there with fishing equipment? What about fishing clothing and other fishing equipment? As you get more involved in fishing, perhaps you'll want to escape from the bank and wade out in the water. This means that you'll need additional fishing equipment, such as waders. Every angler needs to be able to access their extra gear at a moments notice so as to not to miss the next big fish. Why not consider one of the many fly tying wallets and pouches to carry your leaders, reels, lines, even fishing licenses or other personal needs?
Regardless of whether you are a seasoned fly fishing veteran or just a beginner, a good Fishing Shop can set you up with the tackle you will need to get the most out of your time spent fishing.
Once you get into fishing, you'll be hooked!!!
