Although it is their sixth studio album,Dark Passion Play marks the beginning of a new era for Finnish symphonic metal masters Nightwish. With new vocalist Annette Olzon onboard, Nightwish returns with their most accessible material to date. Firmly rooted in their trademark symphonic sounds featuring elaborate keyboard and guitar parts blended seamlessly with intricate string and choir sections, Olzon's vocals have more pop sensibility as they are far less operatic than those of her predecessor. This is perfectly exemplified in the vocal melodies in Amaranth, Eva and the scorching duet with bassist Marco Hietala titled Bye Bye Beautiful. Nightwish mastermind Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards) not only wrote all the lyrics and all but two songs on the album, but also helmed the project as one of the producers along with T.C. Kinnunen and Mikko Karmila, who also mixed the album. Dark Passion Play has already made history as Finland's most expensive recording project to date with massive string sections and choirs and it is clearly evident in the impeccable production. Nightwish have taken the symphonic elements of their prior works and infused them with a new voice to create a sound representative of the album title: dark, playful and, most of all, passionate.

An AMV abot Sesshomaru from Inu Yasha. When I first heared the song, i suddenly thought about Inuyashas half brother, that's the reason for making this. One thing that was importand for me was the moon. The dance is a fight. A fight in the moonlight. (Or in dark places, but I was looking for the moon, that was the importand thing for me. His fight under the moon; the dance on the battlefield) I had MANY problems this time, till I was able to get the clips in my program *sigh* Maybe this is not the best one, but I think it is not bad either. The song is from Nightwish. Oh: and I used clips from the Anime AND the movies, so there are spoilers in it, when you haven't seen them yet.

- The first time I've heard Nightwish is when they sang "Phantom Of The Opera" and now, there are 3 bands in this genre that I really love: Theater of Tragedy, Leaves Eyes & Nightwish! The vocals of Anette and the vicious looks and powerful voice of Marco, the bassist, really let out that definitive symphonic metal sound of Nightwish! Awesome band! thanks for featuring them in this lens of yours! Oh by the way, after getting the idea from my sister who ordered her Designer checks online, I also ordered my own checks where you can put some photos that you like! - looks like I've encountered another Squidoo server bug. the connection from Squidoo to YouTube is not always working. Sometimes it says that the video is no longer available, but when I go to YouTube, there it is, still working fine. Weird. This seems to be happening on all the Squidoo lenses that have YouTube vids on them, so it's not a problem on my end, I guess I'll just have to wait for either Squidoo or YouTube to fix it.
