Here is the low-down on how to choose your Online Guitar Lesson website

There are many websites out there that proclaim to be able make you into a guitar legend in no time. But how many of them are any good, and if you are still learning guitar, how do you know which ones are good and which ones area scam? The answer to that is below...

So many ways to learn...

...so which one is best

You are determined to learn guitar, but you just have to find the best way to go about it. You have a few options that you can go with. They are :

Guitar Books
PROS:
+ You can get a book that covers just about anything that you want to learn
+ You can always go back to the book at a later time
+ Learn at your own pace

CONS:
- No one to tell you if you are doing it wrong
- Do you know how to read tablature or musical notation yet? You'll have to learn quick.

Guitar Videos
PROS:
+ Most people learn better visually
+ The ability to "see and hear" at the same time how you're playing should sound

CONS:
- Expensive
- You can only fit so many lessons onto a DVD
- Once you have been through it you may not ever use those lessons again

Private Lessons
PROS:
+ One on One tutoring
+ The best way to get the exact teaching that you need
+ Progress at a pace that you are capable of

CONS:
- VERY expensive
- Limited to learning what your instructor knows
- Instructor's style may not suit your own

Online Lessons
PROS
+ Relatively inexpensive
+ Learn at a time that is suitable for you
+ Never run out of lessons - good sites are always adding new ones
+ Multiple instructors - good sites have several instructors creating the course, not just one. That means more variety
+ Most online sites use video - it is the best medium for learning guitar
+ Every possible style is available for every possible skill level

CONS
- You need to be in front of the computer
- How do you know what you are getting?

As you can see, online guitar lesson websites have a lot going for them. Now you just need to find one that suits you.

So you just bought a guitar?

...so where do you begin?

You've just dropped some money on your first guitar. It doesn't matter if it is electric or acoustic or if you don't even know the difference, you just want to play it. But how? Where do you begin?

Jamorama is possibly the best website for a total beginner. The Jamorama team have developed a new version of the extremely popular learn guitar course that has set the standard for online and downloadable guitar courses. The new versions of the two books, Jamorama Beginners and Jamorama Advanced, are already proving to be one of the most popular guitar learning guides on the market.

Jamorama has 64 new video examples and exercises. That makes 148 videos in all that perfectly compliment the five exclusive computer games and ebooks that come in the Jamorama Learning Kit.

This package is impressive because it is one of the most complete packages regarding the whole process of learning the guitar, from strumming, muting and bending, to timing, reading music and transcribing. It is even more impressive as all parts of the Jamorama Learning Kit work so well together to make learning to play the guitar as fast and enjoyable as possible.

You've been playing guitar for a while...

... but you're stuck and can't seem to improve.

There are times when we always get stuck with our guitar learning progress. Your playing becomes stale and in need of some serious invigorating. This is where variety truly is the spice of life, so you can add that spice back into your playing with Jamplay.

Jamplay is making a splash in the online guitar lesson world. Jamplay offers a membership only website which broadcasts high-definition video guitar lessons. They have brought together guitar instruction with interactivity... even allowing you to ask questions to their video instructors. They feature 17 guitar instructors (and growing) to give you a variety of teaching methods, which is a huge advantage over every other website out there.

There is an insanely huge amount of content on this website. All lessons are proved in video format, organised into distinct categories to help you find the exact lesson you need. All video lessons are a High Definition affair (a first for a site like this). Currently they offer 130 hours of lesson. Not content to rest on their rear ends, they are constantly adding more and more lessons in each category. Take a look below at a scaled down example lesson, or check out some of the free lessons they offer.

I know how to play guitar, but when it comes to chords like G# , Bflat, Bminor or the so called "power chords", I suck. Nice articles about guitar lessons. Really informative lens.
