Single Cup Coffee Makers

The Flavia Fusion one cup coffee maker is made from brushed steel and makes coffee, tea and chocolate from pre-prepared Flavia indulgence packs, which are aluminium envelopes which container pre-measured coffee and other drinks in 30 varieties.

Flavia is owned by the Mars corporation, they usually make commercial coffee makers, but this version is for households.

Tassimo technology uses aluminium T discs, which have a pre-measured amount of coffee grounds within them, to produce a single cup of coffee. Though we think of this machine as a coffee maker, it can make hot chocolate, tea, espressos, lattes, cappuccinos and standard filter coffee.

The machine does this by reading the bar-code on the T disc, and then selecting brewing instructions that are designed for each particular brand of tea or coffee. Which means you get a perfect brew every single time. Even better, there is a wide range of T-discs to choose from.

Tassimo technology was invented by Bosch, a premium German manufacturer, (Bosch have a very good reputation - their machines last for years) and they have also licenced the technology to Braun, who also make Tassimo coffee machines. Keurig single serve coffee makers use plastic K cups instead of aluminium T discs like the Tassimo. The K cup contains a filter, and the machine pierces the cup at the top to force water through it and at the bottom to allow the coffee out.

You can get pre-measured K cups, as well as reusuable K cups which you can fill with your own favorite brand of coffee.
