Beth Ditto - A punk feminist who does not wear deodorant
People do not stop talking about Beth Ditto. Maybe because the name of her band is "The Gossip". Or perhaps because she used to eat squirrels as a child, or because she is lesbian, obese, wears tight clothes and does not stop stripping for magazines... or because she is a termagant, she bears a striking resemblance to Kelly Osbourne, she is often photographed half naked during her shows or drunk on the streets, or because she launched her own line of clothes...
I do not care much about this! In fact I did not like this Beth Ditto character at all but I had not heard the girl singing yet...
Did you ever listen to a Gossip song? I mean the first Gossip style, when they were self produced or produced by KillRockStars? I have not heard such a determination and style in years and yes, I am proud to confirm that the Gossip is the best band since the times of Bikini Kill, Hole and Babes in Toyland, and that music is not dead even if they are trying hard to kill it !

- Cool stuff! I admit that while I'd heard of Beth Ditto before it was mostly for her appearance and wild antics covered on tabloid sites and communities like OhNoTheyDidnt. I'd never heard her music before, and it's actually quite cool - I'll have to check more out. Thanks for the introduction!

- Sounds like an interesting young woman. Will certainly never go unnoticed. Have to admit I've never heard of her - but then I'm middle aged and live in New Zealand - perhaps she hasn't "got" to us yet.
