Why Should You Take A Snowboard Trip?

cause it will make you better!

Snowboard travel is one of the key essentials to becoming a better snowboarder. The first time I went on a snowboard trip I was super excited. I was going to Vail,Co and I remember wanting to see the mountains as we drove in, but we drove in at night, so that was a bummer. However, I remember the next morning I woke up and saw the purest blue sky I have ever seen. The mountains were big and beautiful, and the best thing was they were covered in snow.

My first snowboard trip gave my passion for riding a huge boost. I was so stoked on Vail I ended up living there for the next 4 winters.

Snowboard travel will help make your snowboarding better. One of the worst things about riding the same runs over and over, like at your local mountain, is that you get so use to doing the same tricks in the same spots and you start to lose the spontaneity that breeds progression. Keeping things fresh by traveling to a new mountain will help keep you creatively strong. Seeing new terrain will open your eyes to new possibilities and then after you are done with your trip you will probably go back to your local mountain and see something different. It's pretty cool.

Another good reason snowboard travel is cool is you get to meet new people who share the same passion for snowboarding as you. Meeting new people is cool just because... but it is also good for your riding too. It gives you the chance to check out other styles and tricks. Like take Vail for example, doing Butters is super popular, and if you never had seen a butter before and you took a trip to Vail, you would then have a new trick to practice on at your local mountain.

I think everybody should visit Vail Mountain at least once in their life time. Vail's slogan is "No Comparison" and they are right. There is no other mountain resort bigger than Vail in the U.S. They have something for everyone. Christmas time there is so beautiful and I highly recommend that you try and visit during the season. The whole town is lit up with lights and there are so many activities you can do off the mountain. Things like Adventure Ridge, which offers night tubing and ice skating, snow biking tours...The list could go on and on. Make sure to schedule your Vail vacation now so you can get the best deals on the best hotels before they fill up for the Christmas season.

We have found the Ultimate Snowboarding Workout

We have finally found the ultimate snowboarding workout. Working out is the most essential off mountain activity necessary for developing your skills as a rider. Let's face it going to the gym just sucks. Unless you are super motivated by the time you get to the gym you have lost your will to work out. The same thing also happens if you have a home gym, by the time you set it up your over it. If you are like me you get this sudden burst of motivation and just want to start working out right away with no equipment, well about 2 years ago I discovered this program. All I have to say is Coach Eddie Lomax is a genius. We use the two workout programs listed below all the time. Over the past 2 years we have reduced our injuries which increased the amount of time we spend riding and improved our riding by having a strong core.

Snowboarding Health

Snowboarding Health: There's nothing better than that the feeling of satisfaction from a full day of riding. Being able to ride for 5+ hours requires a properly fueled body.

Most snowboarding injuries happen on the last run of the day because people's bodies are exhausted. You don't want to be one of those people. Being able to listen to your body and know its limits will save you from a serious injury.

It doesn't matter if you get to ride all season long or only a few weekends here and there, being sidelined is the worst. All your friends get to go and have fun while you sit at home or worse in a hotel room in pain.

How to buy a USED Snowboard

It gets pretty exciting when you are ready to buy a new snowboard, that being a used one or a new one, still a new board to you. Used boards are great, if they have not been used that much. If you are a beginner not wanting to spend a lot of money or not sure yet if snowboarding is going to be your new hobby. First thing...... DON"T buy a board just 'cause the price is right, make sure the board is the right size for you. There are a few other things you should keep an eye on before buying.

d3o Technology Will Change The World

You might be wondering what d3o technology is all about. To put it simply it is a light weight, breathable, flexible material that can protect you from injuries. A small piece of d3o material put in the knee joint of your snowboard pants or some around the shoulder area of your jacket could make the difference between riding away from a wipe out or having to go to the hospital.

Add More Tricks 2 Your Bag

The First step in learning new tricks is find out what trick you want to do. Then you want to visualize yourself doing the trick. When visualizing try to think about everything needed, body movement, board movement, necessary speed...etc. The final step is to go out and practice your trick. Maybe you will land it on your first try, but if not keeping practicing until you get it. Then work on another and try linking them together. Good luck.

Snowboard Tune

Learn snowboard tuning, repairs and maintenance to keep your board in top shape! Save money by keeping your board out of the Pro Tune Shop.

Tuning, is very important, proper care of your board is super necessary for the performance. The reason why a lot of people get discouraged with snowboarding is due to the equipment.

Snowboards are usually tuned for the wrong conditions or not tuned at all.

Control is what you want when snowboarding and having the right edges and base will make that happen a lot easier.

Before you jump into tuning your board ask yourself a few questions....(well that's if you don't have a huge hole on the bottom or a blown edge)

How is your board working for you?

What are the problems you are having while riding?

When did you tune your board last?

There is a lot of terms and a few tools that you will need, the terms are easy and the tools are not too expensive.

If you decide that tuning is not for you, after reading these pages you will know what you need and want before you head over to your local tune shop.

Snowboard Tune Up checking over your board is the first step.

Snowboard Base Repair is the second step in tuning your board, learn how to repair any hole on the bottom of your board.

Snowboard edge sharpening, the third step in tuning your board, give your board the right edges for the conditions.

Snowboard Waxing the fourth and final step in tuning your board.

Don't Forget to Wear your Snowboard Helmet

Accidents happen when you least expect them, that's why it's a good idea to wear your helmet. Getting sidelined by a totally preventable accident is the worst.

Last winter I was goofin' around doing some backside tail butter spins when I caught my heel edge, it just threw me on my back and whipped my head on the snow. Fortunately I was wearing my helmet, other wise that would have been the end of my day, or maybe even a concussion.

Helmets and snowboarding protective gear is the way to go if you want to help prevent a injury from happening to you. It's not just for a beginner either, all level of snowboarders wear protective gear. Actually the better you get the more you might want to wear them because you are going for way bigger tricks than someone just starting out.
