She Wears Many Hats...but who is she?

Hi, I'm Bev Owens also known as BevsPaper when writing here on Squidoo. Our assignment this week at Rocket Moms was to write an "About Me" page to give a little insight of who exactly we are.

I wear many hats, actually. I'm a Wife, Mother, Step-Mom, and Grandma and those are the hats I wear lovingly.

In the work force I wear the hat of a Manager for an Antique Mall and proudly don the hat of a Business Woman with my own little business known as The Paper Trail.

Let's find out what other hats I wear in the following paragraphs.

The Family Hat of BevsPaper

The hat that I am most proud of is my Family hat. I've been blessed with a loving husband, two beautiful grown-up daughters, two grown sons who became mine through marriage, and three adorable little grand-daughters. The grandchildren inspired me to write my Grandma Instructions.

I love wearing the Family Hat the most. Family is the most important thing in our lives and I cherish every moment I have with them. My Grandmother and Mother inspired an article about Family Bibles.

My nature seems to be somewhat motherly instinctively and I have a tendency to mother friends, co-workers, and even critters.

Life Experience Hat or Halo

I'm still trying to earn the hat of an Angel commonly referred to as a halo. I do this by trying to be the best person I know how to be and to offer blessings in the form of random compliments during the day to people I encounter.

Another way that I'm trying to earn that halo is by sharing my life experiences with people. Life has made me drink some pretty sour lemonade at different times in my journey here on earth. Sometimes when you share your personal story with others it brings healing not only to yourself but others too. One of those experiences is shared in the article He Chose Suicide. A leg of my journey I wish I hadn't had to walk on but am stronger for having survived it.

Another personal story that I have shared is The Scarlet Widow which shares one other life experience.

Reminiscing Hat

Sometimes I wear a hat to Reminisce in about cool things that I remember when I was growing up.

It might be about awesome cars of the 1950s or celebrities that I enjoyed watching or listening to.

There is no rhyme or reason where this hat takes me, it walks me down memory lane to things that made me smile, laugh, or just feel good.

Rarely does a Mom get to wear only one hat at a time.

Nine to Five Hat

My day job is managing an Antique Mall in our local area. I love working with people to find the right item for their collection or just a piece to enhance their home.

My job also entails working with and mentoring the dealers who rent space at the mall.

I also run my own website selling Antique and Vintage paper items so I wear this work hat most of the day either in the brick and mortar building or at home at my computer.

I'll keep this hat on from time to time to write about aspects of the Antique Industry, the mall itself, or items that I sell on my website.

History Detective Hat

Because I work with Antiques and I am a self-proclaimed History nut, many days I don my History Detective Hat.

I'm fascinated with the history of our world, our cultures, and even the history of objects and their makers.

I love to research and write about the Native American culture, it's belief systems, and the legends of these remarkable people. I'm learning even more about my own spirituality as I look into the belief systems of the Native American Indian tribes.

Garden Hat

Many days I find my garden hat on top of my head. I love flower gardens and growing houseplants. The joy of watching a new little plant grow and blossom into a beautiful piece of natural art is spiritual for me.

I'm certainly no expert gardener but I do love growing plants and researching and writing about flowers in particular. Daylilies are one of my favorite plants in my landscaping scheme.

A houseplant that I have found very easy to grow is the Lucky Bamboo.

Party Hat of BevsPaper

Most specifically this party hat is worn to celebrate birthdays. The day of one's birth is so very special and I believe we should celebrate it with gusto.

I often wear the Party Hat while I'm wearing my Nine to Five hat because I have so many customers who are looking for something a little different to give as a gift. They want to honor the birth of a loved one, friend, or co-worker with something unique and memorable.

BevsPaper Wears A Reading Hat

I've always been an avid reader so in my leisure time I'll put on my reading hat and enjoy a good book. Sometimes I'll keep that hat on and write a book review of a book that I have finished and enjoyed.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Bolt Action with the sassy female sleuth Leslie Bolt who looks for a serial killer.

One of my all time favorite books to read during the Christmas season is The Polar Express. I love to read it to children during the holidays but I've also been known to just read it for my own pleasure. I still hear the bell of Christmas.

A really fun book review from a mystery series that has cats and dogs as the main characters is Puss 'N Cahoots. The personalities of these pets are just too much fun to read!

Most Women Wear Many Hats In A Day

All of my fellow RocketMoms wear many hats during our busy schedules, its why we are Rocket Moms. I, personally, wear many hats with pride. My expert hat would be in the Antiques Industry with an emphasis on paper collectibles. The other hats I wear with joy because they make me a whole person who has many varied interests and I love to share the information with my readers.

    What a beautiful way to introduce more of yourself. I really enjoyed going through your page and learning more about you. Great job Bev. Sometimes I feel like I wear so many hats that my head feels like it is going to fall off. But yet I still take it all as learning experiences and just keep on keeping on.
