Sometimes its the words that get you. In your case its the pictures. Nice choices in the art work on this page.

If you're to teach children christianity, you should teach other religions too- in an unbiased way, So children can choose what to believe/ not believe.
  • LilliputStation Apr 30, 2012 @ 10:26 am | delete
I disagree. Truth is not relative. If I believe Christianity to be the truth (which I do) it would be morally reprehensible for me to neglect to teach that truth to my children, or to allow them to be led into believing that something else might be true when it isn't.

Your statement that children should be taught a variety of viewpoints so that they can "choose what to believe/not believe" shows a lack of understanding about Christianity. True Christianity is not about information, it is about a relationship with the Savior. It is about accepting His forgiveness and His sacrifice for our sins. Everyone makes that choice- to believe in Him or not to believe in Him, reguardless of what they have been taught. And no one will be held guiltless if they reject Him. Knowing that, how could I in good concience teach my children anything else?

Another way of teaching OT is to do some role play or drama or skits. Usually kids remember better and get inspire to participate to learn more about God's words.

Great ideas to get children involved! Makes it fun to learn and not boring to them. I find the more activity the more they enjoy being in class learning.

Lucas, I don't know how many people believe in God, but He knows.

As for how the world began, I find it interesting that you are able to place absolute FAITH in an event which you did not personally witness. How do you KNOW there was a big bang? Were you there?

You mention science, but science cannot create. The word science comes from the Latin "scientia" which means "having knowledge." Science is nothing more than our observations and explainations of the created world. Science by definition is the observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explaination of phenomena. And by this definition, the only "scientific" explaination for creation is one that was recorded by someone who was there to observe it. You weren't there, and I wasn't there, but I know someone who was. And in His book, the Bible, I can read the only truely SCIENTIFIC account of how the world began.

Thank you so much for this great lens. I esp. loved the great movies. We are working on the New and Old testament lapbooks from Homeshool in the Woods. You should consider adding that resource here. It is phenominal and created by a homeschooling family/ mother artist.
We are also planning a trip to the Creation Museum in Kentucky soon. I was thrilled to come upon this and thank you for your work here and organization!
