What Was Jesus Thinking?
Jesus often used parables to teach life lessons, and the washing of the disciples feet on the night of Passover is no exception. My mind is filled with thoughts and questions about why it was so important to Jesus. He chose the closing moments of his life to teach yet one more lesson to the men he had called to be his friends and disciples.
"And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15
The world is desperately in need of glad tidings, so I think it's important to further pursue the answer to that question...
Let's think about it for a minute... what was Jesus thinking when he took a basin of water and began to wash the feet of his disciples?
The answer to that question is just what the world is waiting to hear. Many people wonder about what it means to take communion with Christ. Do YOU have an answer? Has the Holy Communion changed your life? Has Jesus called you to care for those who don't know him?
Are your kids watching you, and ASKING their way to Zion? Judgement begins at the House of God, and that means us... it's time for us to find out what Jesus truly had in mind when he said for us to do this in remembrance of him.
Did he REALLY mean for us to get on our knees and wash someone else's feet?

I just had to laugh out loud when I saw this banner... it sounds just like the question a child would ask, doesn't it?
As I think back on the days when my daughter was a child with these kinds of questions, I remember how strict I was with her.
We spent a LOT of time in church... we always had a lot of fun, but we could have had MORE FUN if we had spent more time actually exploring the wonders of the nature God created for us to enjoy!
We were a SERIOUS church going family... first ones in; last ones out. Do you know what I mean?
If I had it to do over again, I would choose to spend more time answering questions about elephant poop, and less time forcing my daughter to "sit still" in church!
Toddlers and elementary school age kids are not only curious, they have ants in their pants! I've learned how important it is to let them enjoy those funny, silly, inquisitive questions that make children so delightful.
If you are the parent of a young child, I encourage you to enjoy them! Let their natural curiosity drive the course of your conversations. Ponder the answers to important questions about life, God... and elephant poop!
When they have packed their bags, and are driving away to begin their young adult lives; you'll be glad you did!

If you are, you will recognize that the upcoming lenses on the Creation are extremely skeletal in nature!If you're looking for a lot of content about the subject; you'll be disappointed... but, if you can see the principle behind the shallow lenses; you can appreciate the masterful design process that reflects the process of lens building, as well as the creating of the cosmos!
God started with nothing but an idea; then built an entire world that would sustain animal and human life. He did it with great skill, finesse and foresight!
He built the world before he built man... now, that's a framework to remember!

- This is really innovative, I remembered my Sunday classes when I was a kid, those were the most boring lessons :( . Such a pity Squidoo was not around at that time, or my teachers can read your lenses and learn from there.

- Super information! We keep our 4 year old grandson everyweekend - he goes to Church with us, simply LOVES his "God's Bible Book" as he calls it. I will be using some of your information for him and for his 3 year old quadruplet brothers/sisters! Thanks for putting this together.

The Squidoo Open House Tour is a parade of lensmasters who are willing to take a tour of all of the official Squidoo charity headquarters. It's a simple way for each of us to discover new and exciting ways that we can help those who help widows, orphans, soldiers, and animals, and many others who are in need of a helping hand. The heart of charity is to provide a hand up, and that's what Squidoo charities are all about.
There are over one hundred official Squidoo charities, so my hope is that you will find one that will inspire you to participate in some way. It can be as simple as signing their guest book, and telling someone else about the great work that they are accomplishing. The goal of these great charities is to help those who need it most... just like God's word tells us to do!
