Want to know how to cancel your Big Fish Game Club Membership?

I've been a member of Big Fish Game Club on and off for over 3 years. In that time Big Fish has changed a lot and almost always for the better. While most of what I'm going to tell you is found somewhere on the Big Fish site, it is can be hard to find. I think I might even be able to pass along a few tips and tricks that you can't find elsewhere. By the time you read this page, I hope you find all the Big Fish Game Club membership details you want. If you don't find it here, leave me feedback and I will find out the answer for you.

Big Fish Game Club Membership Details

and my review of them...

The Casual Pack
Cost: $9.99/game
Details: When you sign up for this option, you will be charged $9.99 each month on your credit card until you cancel.
My review: This is best for, well, the casual gamer. This is for someone who only likes to buy a game every once in a while. If you are certain you will only want 4 games in a year, this is the way to go. But you have to be careful and you must cancel or it will keep charging you every month. Cancellation is actually very easy though, just see tips and hidden secrets in my next section.

The Super Pack
Cost: $7.99/game
Details: 6 games minimum in the next 6 months
My review: The only reason I see for this level is that you just don't want to commit to a year. You are still paying every month, it's just for 6 months instead of a year.

The Jumbo Pack - The best deal anywhere that I've found
Cost: $6.99
Details: 12 games minimum in the next 12 months
My review: If you like to play games with any regularity then this membership is the only way to go. Yes, you have to stick with this membership for a year. But if you like your games anywhere near as much as me, 12 games is really only a small percentage of the number of games you'd like to get in a year.

One additional point here, you can always upgrade your to a higher level at any point. So if you initially join at the Casual or Super level, you can upgrade to the jumbo level at any time.

Important Money-Saving Tip #1

How to Cancel your Big Fish Game Club Membership

You might be saying to yourself wait, didn't she's still a Big Fish Game Club member. Yes I did. And at the same times I have followed these steps on how to cancel the membership many times. Things happen in life, and games are a luxury. So some times you may need to cancel for a time. See the next section for one example from me as well as another tip.

    1. Click on help (top right corner of page)
    2. Click on get help next to the Game Club Membership
    3. In the list of search results you can find
"Cancel Your Big Fish Game Club"
    4. Click on "Cancel Your Big Fish Game Club"
    5. The 2nd line of the answer has a link to
the cancellation page that you can click on
    6. You will the select the reason. There is also an optional comment box.
    7. The next page varies depending on your membership and the length of it. But there is almost always an offer that gives you an incentive to stay with Big Fish Game Club. More on this in a later section, but just pick whatever option works best for you. It's been awhile since I actually canceled but if I remember right and they haven't changed it you may have to say you are sure twice.

Remember, you must fulfill the time commitment for whatever Big Fish Game Club you joined at before you can cancel.

Important Money-Saving Tip #2

aka A Newly Discovered Membership

You might be asking yourself at this point, so what membership level is she currently at with Big Fish Game Club. Well, rather than just tell you, I'll show you. Below is a screen-shot of my account screen as of 2-21-09. For my own safety, I have removed the personal information from view.

Screenshot of my Big Fish Game Club account

You may notice that my membership says "Jumbo Game Club Lite Membership" and the issue date at the bottom is for last June. I hit one of those times when I had to admit that the games were a luxury and I had to cut back. So I followed the directions in the earlier section on how to cancel. But when I got to step 7 there was a new offer I had never seen before, and I have canceled and renewed my Big Fish Game Club membership more times than I can count.

So what are the details on the "Jumbo Game Club Lite Membership"? Well I'm still only paying $6.99 a month, but now I'm only required to make that payment every other month. It's like a great combination of the Jumbo Pack and Super Pack for these hard times.

How can you get this "Lite Membership" offer? Well, I don't really know for sure. It's not something that Big Fish publishes. I can really only say what I had done. I had already fulfilled my Jumbo Game Club membership commitment, and during that time I had purchases a number of extra games in addition to the required ones.

My tip and point to you is that Big Fish Games rewards loyal customers and does its best to keep you happy. They have upgraded their site and added many improvements since I first joined in 2005. (My favorite upgrade is that purchased game credits now never expire.) So if you need to scale back your membership, try cancelling or talking to them on the Live Chat, they want to make you happy.

You have a minor typo for the game price in the Jumbo pack in the first section. Just minor!
