Reno History
Reno is the county seat of Washoe County, Nevada, United States.
The city has a population of 217,091 (approx) and is the fourth most populous city in Nevada. Reno sits in a high desert valley at the foot of the Sierras. Reno borders Sparks, a city with approximately 90,000. Most call the metro area the "Truckee Meadows" and it has a population of about 310,000
Reno, known as "The Biggest Little City in the World", is famous for its casinos, and is the birthplace of the gaming corporation Harrah's Entertainment.

Well, I think Reno gets a bad rap. It is actually quite proper except for gambling. The community is made up of many transplanted Californians. It has a bad housing bubble.
Reno doesn't sell sex like Vegas. Both Reno and Vegas have laws forbidding prostitution and the legal brothels are all in the less populated counties of Nevada.
Security in the casinos require reasonable behavior, and do not allow crazy behavior. Also, Reno has, as I have tried to point out here, an amazing cultural foundation. Also, the neighborhoods away from the casinos are really nice.
And the two casinos I picked out to feature are really quite nice hotels. There is no cheaper vacation as far as hotel cost than Reno. It is much less expensive here than in Las Vegas.
