Being Disabled And Not Understanding Written Directions

My name is Dinah and I am disabled with many forms of disabilities.  Yet I do not let my disablilities hold me back from trying to make a success of many things I attempt to do.  But I do get very frustrated at being over looked my many of the major companies who do not think of us in any sense.

It seems that most major companies think that everyone is a computer genius.  Most think that all can understand written directions.  I know many smart people without disabilities that do not understand how to follow written directions and give up in their attempts to do things.

I for one do not know how to link my listings to squido, nor to my space, nor to many other sites.  I am left behind in this vast world.   It gets frustrating when one is not able to just follow simple directions.   There are many companies who are not even touching the market of the disabled by not having tutorials done for the visually impaired, the hearing impaired.  I know it takes extra time to develope these kind of things and many companies do not want to spend the money....but I would think that if they wanted to make more money they would think of the disabled people who do spend money and want to be a success in all aspects of life.

I know of two woman who do think of the disabled and do many things for us.....Janelle Elms of http://www.onlinesuccessinstitute.com/ .  This woman does a great deal for my disabled family of Disabled Online Users Association....she thinks of us and our impairments and goes out of her way to help us so that we can become successful also.  She has free podcasts with many successful sellers on eBay, Seth who started Aquido.....and just had a favorite person of mine Danna of PowersellingMom.com.....http://www.powersellingmom.com/ .

I have much admiration of these two women who are so generous of their hearts and how they go out of their way to try to help those of us who are disabled.  Thier support of my DOUA family with their charity acutions, and many other behind the scene things they do for us.  If more major companies would follow in these two womens footsteps many major companies would see a great increase in their business.  eBay totally over looks us that are disabled.

Being disabled does not mean we are looking for handouts.  We are not stupid, lazy people.  We over come many challenges daily that many just take for granted and think nothing of the process to get for instance listings from eBay to show up on Squido or my space.  I have no clue on how to do these things nor am I alone on this subject.

I think of the money that could be made with tutorials for the disaabled to show how to get items from eBay onto squido, or my space for those that are visually impaired, hearing impaired and just plain have a hard time understanding written directions.

One reason I am always being an advocate for my DOUA, Disabled Online Users Association family as the amount of work done as volunters for those of us who are wanting to supplement our income from disability.   All work is done on a volunter basis.  Debbie and Marjie, Tanya who spend hours each day helping all who are within our family to become a success on ebay.   If you are disabled and looking for emotional support then check us out.....even more so if your wanting to learn how to sell on eBay.  Just type in your search engine www. DOUA.ORG.

So again to Janelle Elms of http://www.onlinesuccessinstitute.com/ thank you for all you give to us and how your always finding a way to promote our DOUA family.  For the wonderful interview with Danna who just came back from ebay live in Boston.....http://www.powersellingmom.com/  for the wonderful interview with Seth who started Squido I do personally thank you once again for sharing your kindness, your encouragement to each of us who are not just disabled but who don't have that attitude of " We are better then You" that many big name people do have......who expect you to pay for just saying their names and not getting anything in return.

Now I just wish that the major companies and eBay also would put out visual tutorials for my fellow disabled online users so we can progress further as there are many who just don't get written directions.   Again, let me be very strong on this....we are not stupid people because we are not able to follow written directions.....but think of the untapped market there is for tutorials on how to do things.....such as a step by step tutorial on how to get listings from ebay to Squido, to My space, and other places.
