The miracle cycler

Bio-spira really can be an overnight miracle cycler for your aquarium. Instead of taking weeks or months to cycle your tank, it only takes 24-48 hours. And you can even have your fish in the tank while it cycles with no harm to the fish!

What it is

Bio-Spira is "biological filtration" in a bottle. It contains several species of actual nitrifying bacteria normally found in closed fresh (or salt) water systems. It was discovered by Marineland Labs, who then cultured and produced it.

The main ingredients are purified water, patented and patent pending pure strains of Nitrosomonas, Nitrosospira and Nitrospira.

This product arrives refridgerated and must be kept so until it has all been used. This is to keep the bacteria "alive".

It comes in both freshwater and marine versions, and 2 sizes of each.

How it works

Unlike other products, Bio-Spira can literally work overnight. Just shake, and add to your aquarium. You cannot overdose, and while the package doesn't say to, the best place to add it is to the filter itself. If you add it just to the main tank water, it can take up to a week to cycle.

It helps you avoid the "new tank syndrome", and will not harm your fish. You may see an ammonia and nitrite spike during the first day or so, this is a normal part of the cycle process and levels should drop off within 48 hours if you leave it alone.

Where you can get it

You can only find Bio-Spira during the warmer months and from a very few locations, most of them online.

I just bought some to get my tank started. I am waiting for my supplies to arrive. The sooner I can get my tank cycled, the sooner I can get some fish! Thanks for the information.
