Attraction Marketing Techniques

You are probably reading this because you are either looking for a home-based / Internet business, or you already have a home business and are looking for a way to promote it.

If you are like the majority of people you really have no idea of how to build your business. To be honest, I never even gave it much thought.

The Accidental Entrepreneur

Actually I was not looking for a business. I am a Doctor of Chiropractic and one of my patients told me about a new supplement she was taking and that she was feeling "fantastic". Since I am always open to looking at anything that would be of benefit to my patients, I suggested the product to several of my patients. They all experienced positive results with it, so I started recommending it to all of my patients.

Too make a long story short, many of my patients liked it so well that they told others, who told others. Soon I began to receive regular commission checks from the company. This is when I realized the income potential of Network Marketing.

I had a captive audience with my patients, but I knew that I would need to learn more about the "secrets" of the business if I were to pursue it full-time.

MLM Meetings, Leads, Cold Calling

So I did what most of you have probably done. I went to meetings, I purchased leads, did cold calling, mailed post cards, followed what the company recommended. I even purchased radio advertising (that was a complete waste!). Now I did get some results from all this activity, but it was a lot of work and the results were not as good as I had expected.

MLM Opportunity = Failure?

Maybe you have experienced the same results (or lack of); hard work with small results. Money spent on systems that didn't work. You ask yourself "What am I doing wrong"?

The truth is that few people can successfully do meetings, cold calling and all the other things we are told to do. Also, from my experience, approaching friends and relatives is the last thing you want to do (wait until you are successful and they will come to you).

TRUST MARKETING

Network Marketing is often called Trust Marketing. People join you because they trust you! Before people can trust you they have to get to know you. The same way I built my Chiropractic practice - when patients got to know and trust me they would refer others to me.

Since you are dealing with strangers you need to show them that they can trust you. Provide a f r e e or low-cost service, such as a "How To" e-book or article on some aspect of your business. If you are in the flower business you would provide information on caring for flowers. If your business is pets, you would provide information on raising, training or caring for pets.

By providing a service without trying to sell them anything you will gain their trust. Next time they need something they will come to you. Many will eventually join you in your primary business opportunity.

How many times have you seen a local store offering samples to their customers? Probably almost every weekend. Not everyone buys that product on the day they received the sample, but next time they need or want that item who do you think they will go to?

The Secret To Attraction Marketing

Another benefit is that you now have their contact information. This allows you to stay in contact with them, further developing your relationship with them. A weekly or monthly message with more helpful information is a great relationship builder.

You will begin to attract people to you. You no longer have to buy leads, call strangers, or do any of the other things that none of us want to do. Attraction Marketing is the most effective technique to sell to people and build long term business relationships.

Go niche!

Lenses on niche topics, like a comparison list of the 10 best organic peanut butters, or your personal review of Lost Odyssey, or a debate over who the final Cyclon is in Battlestar Gallactica--these lenses do better than generic mainstream pages like "Buy an iPod here."169 points

Share your passion!

Assuming you're passionate about your topic, you're probably always talking about it, reading about it, finding out new tidbits. When you learn something new, add it to your lens. If you see an interesting discussion in a forum, turn it into a poll or a debate. Passion shows!140 points

Reread your lens

When writing, its easy for the eyes to skip over silly little typos. If you go back and really read it a few days later... The little things will jump out at you.
