Some highlights and general information about Blenheim, New Zealand
Blenheim is a small town in the north east of New Zealands' South Island. Once a service town for the local agriculture and horticulture on the fertile Wairau plains, Blenheim has become a destination in it's own right as producer of some of the best wines in the world.
Having lived and traveled to some of the worlds biggest cities, I choose to come live here in this small New Zealand town for the relaxed lifestyle and fantastic climate.

Blenheim, nz: the centre of Marlborough
Blenheim - the sunshine capital of New Zealand
Blenheim has a population of 26,000 people and has the most hours of sunshine in New Zealand (competes every year for the title with Nelson). As well as some of the best wines in the world, the warm dry climate allows Marlborough to grow amazing produce such as Olives, Cherries, Stonefruit, Strawberries, garlic and herbs. This produce, along with the seafood from the nearby Marlborough sounds, is why Marlborough is known as the Gourmet paradise of New Zealand.
With the success of the viticulture industry, Blenheim has become a vibrant town with a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
While Blenheim is an inland town, the local beaches of Rarangi and Whites bay are only 15 and 25 minutes away. The Marlborough sounds, one of the best boating locations in the country, are only a 30 minute drive away to either Picton or Havelock.

- Hey ya
I drove through Blenheim when I went from the North ISland to the South Island (and back), in my first year of teaching. I had a job in Karamea, do you know where that is? The craziest tiny remote place in New Zealand! Needless to say - I saved lots of money that year!
