Blink 182

The Blink 182 band is made up of the band members: Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge.   Travis was brought into the world in San Diego on November 14th, in 1975.  He started playing the drums when he was real young when he got his first drum set as a kid.  He became a very skilled drummer and played in many different bands before settling down with Blink 182, such as, the ska band, the aquabats, where he went by the name Travis Baron Von Tito.  Of course, he is covered in Tattoos and piercings, all of which had great personal meaning to him.  He also is the owner operator of his own shop called Famous Stars and Straps.

Mark was brought into the world in California on March 15th in 1972.  He had to go through his parents divorce when he was 14 years old, which ended up with him living with his dad in Washington.  He earned his first amp and bass when he was 15 for helping his dad repaint the house.  Who would have guess that he first wanted to be an English teacher?  He is the one in the band with the least amount of piercings and tattoos and he was a smoker but gave that up. 

Tom was brought into the world in San Diego on December 13th in 1975.  When he got his first computer and its only purpose was to search the internet for aliens as he believed from a young age that aliens really existed.  He got used to hard work at an early age.  He spent his time, in his hometown, working on a construction site and at Gary's Chicken and Ribs.  He even got to be in a movie with a one liner, as a fast food clerk. 

The story of blink-182 first started back in 1992, by Scott Raynor (drums), Mark Hoppus (bass, vocals) and Tom Delonge (guitar, vocals). The name of band back then was just blink.  They went for blink 182 when there was the threat of another band with the same name.  Even though there are many rumors and ideas floating around about what exactly 182 stands for, it was actually a random Originally just called blink, they were forced to number that the band chose as they thought it sounded good.
 
They have proven that they have a huge following from their brutal heart felt lyrics.  It was in 1995 when they came out with their first full album called the Cheshire Cat and then their album Dude Ranch followed in 1997.  This album was the one that helped them gain widespread commercial success. This is also when Scott went back to college and left the band.  He was replaced by Travis Barker, who used to be one of the Aquabats.

At the end of 1998, the band quit touring to make their next album that was called Enema of the State.  This was even more popular than Dude Ranch and it helped get the bands sound out there to new groups of listeners.
