4 Bodybuilding Workout Program Myths Exposed

Whether you're just getting started in bodybuilding or you're already an experienced bodybuilder looking for a new set of highly-effective workout routines, you're in for a surprise. The world of bodybuilding is largely based upon perpetuating the ignorance of people who struggle aimlessly for the pumped-up physique they desire. Myths and delusions abound, often knocking even savvy bodybuilders off the course. Below, we're going to peel back the covers and reveal the dark underbelly of bodybuilding. We're going to expose 4 myths that can stand in your way to building the body you want.

Bodybuilding Workout Program

Myth #1: Emulate The Pros

Like it or not, you're probably not ready to follow the same bodybuilding workout program that the professionals use. Plenty of magazines and books by "experts" suggest that you do exactly that, but they're not telling you the whole story. The pro bodybuilding champions have trainers, doctors and nutritionists on their team. These people can help the champs avoid injuries while providing supplements that can cost thousands of dollars each month. I realize you want to get big. But, be smart about it. Realize that you're likely working with a different set of circumstances than the pros.

Myth #2: Pumping Builds Mass

Wrong. Pumping your muscles full of blood actually does not build muscle mass. I realize that most of the "experts" recommend that you pump to build mass. But, remember, much of the bodybuilding advice given by these "experts" is misleading and can actually lead to injury or sickness.

Here's how pumping works: when you do reps, blood is shuttled into your muscles. When the blood gets there, it reaches a cul-de-sac. It's essentially stuck there. As a result, your muscles get that tight look that a lot of people want. But, that blood is backed up in your muscles. It's not new blood that can feed oxygen to your muscles. It's old blood that is building up lactic acid (a waste product). So, does pumping build mass? Sure, in the short-term, while you're pumping. But, does it build mass over time? Of course not.
