Bowflex Ultimate 2 - A Hands On Review Of The Ultimate 2
That's what they say on the infomercial and quite frankly, I was skeptical. Most home gym products are crap and don't actually work.
By the time you finish reading this review, you will know exactly what the Bowflex Ultimate 2 can and can not do for you and how to get in the best shape of your life.
I decided to try the Bowflex Ultimate 2 because the commercials were pretty convincing and I was looking for a way to get in shape at home.
So, here is my complete review of the Bowflex Ultimate 2 - the good and the bad.

Does It Really Work?
The Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym
The Ultimate 2 over delivers when it comes to versatility and being able to do all your favorite exercises (close to 100). There's more than one could possibly imagine. I still haven't tried everyone but that's what makes it fun. Your workouts are never the same and never boring.
The Powerrods are a little different than free weights. For starters, the resistance is linear - which means you will apply just as much resistance at the top of the exercise as the bottom. With free weights, the weight feels lighter towards the end of the contraction. Bowflex keeps it linear to better isolate your muscles and increase their response. Sure, big weights are fun and can totally help you slap on pounds of muscle but having total control of your form and maximum stimulation of the muscle fibers is just as important.
My only minor complaint with the powerrods is that they max out at 280 lbs for your upperbody. Most folks probably won't need more. However, I would like to see higher resistance loads for people who are already strong and already in shape.
I've been keeping my body in shape on the Bowflex Ultimate 2 for 4 months now, and have the luxury of being able to do any exercise I want, when I want, without spending hours in the gym. This machine works for regular people too and you should expect see results in a few weeks.

How Many Exercises Do I Get?
When you train on the Bowflex Ultimate 2 you'll have 100 exercises, 400 variations (yes 400), an exercise training DVD, and everything you need to transform your body. When you train you'll improve arms, back, chest, shoulders, legs, abdominals, and more. Very cool. Is It Better Than Other Home Gyms?
If you asked me if it were better than free weights I would say it depends on your goals. Nothing quite matches free weights when it comes to building sheer size and muscularity. However, no other home gym quite matches the efficiency and power of the Bowflex. It would take alot of space and money to have all these exercise that traditional machines and weights offer. Can you imagine the attention and looks you'll get with rock-hard muscles busting out of your shirt?
Unlike free weights, you won't be able to cheat and swing your body around. The Bowflex guides you with proper form to squeeze out the most out of each muscle contraction.
If your like me, you want results fast and can't afford to spend all your time at the gym. When you train on the Bowflex Ultimate 2 the results are quick .. usually in just a matter of a few weeks.
Does It Take Up Alot Of Space?
This is the perfect home gym for anyone that wants to workout in the privacy of their home while leaving a small footprint. You can fold if for easy storage. There is no reason you should have to fill your house up with big clunky weights to get a gym quality workout. Here's my favorite link:
