The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Movie

Sometimes there is a movie that comes along that just leaves you at a loss for words. I really didn't know what to expect. All I knew is that it would be about the holocaust and the relationship of two little boys. The movie was so much more than that. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas [Blu-ray]
a must see.

Boy in the Striped Pajamas - My Review

Forbidden Friendship

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is an unforgettable story. It is a story about an eight year old little boy named Bruno who moved with his family into a new home located next to a Concentration camp.

Bruno's father was the commandant at the concentration camp. Even though Bruno was forbidden to go anywhere near the concentration camp his curiosity got the best of him and he became friends with a Jewish boy that he met through the camp fence. This is a gripping story with unexpected consequences.

At the close of the movie, I found myself regretting watching it because it left a heavy weight on my heart, Yet I know it was a movie that needed to be watched.

I haven't yet seen this - missed the opportunity when it was on in the cinema and haven't gotten round to renting it yet. It is definately on my list of movies to see.

Thanks for alerting me to this movie. I hadn't heard about it or the book. 5*

I saw special on cable TV about the Holocaust a couple years ago where the filmmakers documented a camp survivor going back to the house she was at when she was little and taken way. The same neighbors were there which was amazing by itself, but even more amazing/shocking was that they didn't seem to have any remorse. (I think this was in Hungary but not sure.) Just shows how atrocities can literally happen right next door and people turn a blind eye.

wow! that does sound heavy! All of the Holocaust writings and movies are sad and difficult, but often victorious and always on the "need to be seen" list. Thank you for this review!
