Let's Meditate
I recently started my journey into meditation during the latter period of 2009. I have now reaped the benefits and would like to urge others who may be skeptical to exercise meditation on a regular basis.
Meditation can have a religious aspect allowing the body to achieve a higher state of spirituality and is practiced in almost all major religions such as Christianity, Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism and Islam, etc.. Prayer is considered a form of meditation and so is chanting. However, you can take a secular view of meditation by simply using it for relaxation. It's up to you how you choose to meditate.

My favorite types of the form are Chakra meditation, Guided meditation, and Chanting.

An instructional form which primarily concentrates on imagery and positive reinforcement to relieve stress. Often times you will relax each part of the body independantly until your entire body becomes fully relaxed.

Yoga mats are also great for meditation and I feel they increase the benefits significantly. I highly suggest buying one for the added comfort in the meantime you can always lie in bed, on a couch or sit cross-legged on the floor if you are able to use these positions.

- Nice lens! I'm somewhat of a meditation fan -- I do yoga, which is sometimes called "meditation in motion" -- good for those of us who have a hard time sitting still for seated meditation! My husband, on the other hand, meditates at least 30 minutes a day.
