Breeds of Terriers
There are many breeds of terriers in the world. This lens is going to discuss and focus on the number of different kinds of breeds of terriers in the world.
The terrier originally bred for hunting and killing vermin. Although these are small dogs, they are brave and tough with a lively, energetic and almost hyperactive personality.
There are more than 50 different breeds of terriers in the world. They can be divided into three categories within the breeds of terriers, namely hunting/working, fighting, and toy/companion.
Hunting/working - They are still used to find and track quarry. some examples are the Jack Russell and the Old English.
Fighting - These are still bred as fighting dogs for (typical illegal) dog fights. Some examples are Staffordshire Bull and the American Pit-Bull.
Toy/companion - These are bred down from larger terriers. Although they are small but they retain their true terrier character. Some examples are English Toy terrier and Norwich terrier.
Terriers are feisty, energetic dogs whose sizes range from fairly small to the grand Airedale Terrier.
Most breeds of terriers have wiry coats that require special grooming known as stipping in order to maintain a characteristic appearance.
But for me, out of all the breeds of terriers, I still love the Boston Terriers because they are still lovable as always and well-mannered. Absolutely suitable to be called the American Gentleman.
But initially I had trouble training it until I got hold of a book called the Boston Terrier Secrets which outlined to me all the great techniques to use to train a Boston terrier.

If you have a boston terrier, I highly suggest you check out the book. Plus, you can get more tips and information from the website at: http://www.bostonterriercenter.com
