Welcome to Brenda Carter's world

Welcome to my bio, I'll be adding more to it as I add more lenses about my favorite things.  Hopefully you'll enjoy your time here and decide to start your own lens.  It's addicting, so watch out.  To start with, I have to give credit to Kimberly Dawn Wells for inspiring me to set up my bio this way.  She is great. Don't leave and go to her lens yet, read mine first.

Growing Up

I grew up in Sheboygan, WI which is a city of about 50,000 people, as Brenda K Ehlert. I was very reluctant to change my name when I got married because I think Brenda K Carter sounds too much like a country singer and I am not a great fan of country music.

There really isn't that much to do in Sheboygan unless you are into Beer and Bratwurst. The annual Brat Days is one of the biggest events in the town. A day and a half of indulging in beer and brats, it's great fun.

My family growing up consisted of my mother and father and little brother. Many people tease me nowadays that I had a Donna Reed like childhood, but I guess that's what happens now when staying married is considered the exception instead of the norm.

What do I do now?

I moved to Green Bay, WI about 8 years ago and met my husband, soon after that. Married life for the two of us has been pretty rough so far, but things are looking up. You can read more about some of our struggles at my blog: Down On Our Luck.

I graduated from Lakeland College shortly after moving to Green Bay also and soon after started working as an accounting clerk for a small company in Kimberly, WI.

I a proud adoptee of two wonderful cats, Bud and Kelly. My next web project will be featuring them and the dogs that my parents own, but I can tell more about that later.

I am an entrepreneur by night selling new and used video games online at The Software Castle. If you're looking to pick up any games, check out my website.

Finding great FREE websites where I can make extra money for myself is one of the ways I spend a lot of my free time. Squidoo is one of those sites and another one is Big Crumbs. If you'd like to make money shopping, visit my lens about one of the easiest ways to make money online. Seriously, I have been paid over $400 and all I have been doing is shopping online. In case you're wondering, since I have joined Big Crumbs, I have only earned just over $80.00 from my own shopping.

I've added to my little online empire recently. Not only do I have over 50 lenses, but I also started a new blog about SquidooAll Squidoo All The Time. I'll be adding even more websites and blogs real soon.

My favorite websites

Nothing much here, but a list of my favorite websites.
The Software Castle
Video games and computer software for sale. Stop by and check us out.
Big Crumbs
A great way to earn some extra money. All you have to do is sign up and shop through their links. Refer a bunch of friends and earn even more. Check out my lens about Big Crumbs, titled Make Money Shopping, to learn more about this great shopping rebates site.
NetWinner.com
Play lotto every minute or so and earn points or even cash prizes. Watch out, it's almost as addicting as Squidoo.

If you're looking for video games, check out "thesoftwarecastle" on eBay.

Of course, you could just go to our website at The Software Castle also.

Winter Guard

One thing that I haven't mentioned yet is that growing up I marched with the Accents and Buccaneers winter guards for 13 years before aging out. Unfortunately, both of these organizations only exist in our hearts now, but Sheboygan still has one competitive winter guard left by the name of Evolution. If you're looking for some great guard clothes, check out my Guard Clothes lens and make a purchase.

Since I've been on Squidoo, I've been a little busy.

Below are my top 5 lenses. This updates every day, so check back often and see what's been going on.

Weekends are for football

I was going to leave this out for now, but I can't seem to get the football tags off of my lens. In between everything else, I also love to spend my weekends watching football. College or Pro, it doesn't matter. Of course, being from Wisconsin, my favorite teams are The Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin.
