My Take on the Situation

I have been a lifelong Packers fan and the only Packer quarterback I have known has been Brett Favre. He is my favorite athlete in all sports and one of my favorite people in the world. I believe that he will be remembered as a top 3 quarterback of all time and as the quarterback who had the most fun playing football. I have been a loyal Packers fan until the mess that they created with Brett occurred. I am still a Packers fan, but now my loyalty lies with Brett and the Jets. Mike McCarthy, Ted Thompson, and Mark Murphy disrespected the greatest player in Packers franchise history and for that Brett deserves to play somewhere. I think that the Packers will have a decent season, but it still baffles me why the Packers didn't bring back Favre immediately when he said he wanted to play again. The Packers would have been Superbowl contenders!

I hate to say it, because Favre is my favorite too, but I feel like he is more to blame in the fiasco ending in his trade to the Jets. That being said, I think the Packers organization is worse off for the time being.

Both sides could have handled it better, but Favre was too indecisive to assure the Packers he could be 100% committed, which is neccesary to succed in the NFl - even if you are Brett Favre!
