Meet the Fairy Master

From beautifully illustrated books like Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book and Good Fairies/Bad Fairies to concept art for the movies the Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, Brian Froud is one of the most talented and prolific fantasy illustrators out there.

Why Brian Froud?

I've been a fan of Brian Froud since before I really knew who he was. Growing up my favorite movie was Labyrinth. Later in college my roommate introduced me to Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book and Good Fairies/Bad Fairies and I've been hooked ever since.

Being a fantasy artist myself I'm of course drawn to other fantasy art but his has a special magic. It runs the gammot from ethereal and delicate to silly and earthy. While my artwork is quite different from his it never fails that if I'm suffering from artists block a little time looking at his work will free it up.

Brian Froud Bio from Wikipedia
