Inspirational Pop Music Artist Briana Nadeau

Hailing from a small town in rural New Hampshire, Briana Nadeau has always lived and breathed music. She began playing the piano (Suzuki method) at age 5, and became involved in musical theater a few years later.

Though she received classical vocal training at Phillips Exeter Academy for a number of years, Briana was always more intrigued by the "soul" of jazz, blues, and R&B music.

While attending McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Briana met some great jazz players who exposed her to a world of improvisation and soul.

Currently, she resides in Los Angeles, CA and performs with a number of groups, including the acclaimed electro-classical-jazz band, The Marches (founded by Richard Conti).

For the past 2 years, Briana has worked as a session singer and recording artist for guitarist-turned-music producer, Adam Williams (of the well-known punk band, Powerman 5000). During this time, she has been able to develop and write, in collaboration with Williams, her own, unique songs and this is where Granite State was born.

Briana Nadeau's debut album, Granite State, merges various musical genres, to create fresh and innovative music that has already inspired a huge following. Her songs range from pop-tinged country, to "naked jazz," to bluesy, soulful ballads with a hint of R&B. The whole album is a very personal vision, full of complex ideas and unique arrangements. By incorporating so many musical and emotional "colors," Granite State refuses generic categorization - it almost creates its own musical genre by offering a number of different perspectives on time, love, and loss, while demanding that its listeners find their own meaning, their own world, their own understanding of life, within this rare collection of sounds.
