Who is Britney Spears

Britney Spears started performing at a young age. She was involved in gymnastics, dancing, singing, and acting. She competed in competitions whenever she could and auditioned for what she could in the area. Her first major break was when she competed on the television show Star Search. One of her biggest auditions was for The New Mickey Mouse Club. She was to young to be on the show (8 years old) but the show was so impressed with her that they helped her get an agent. A few years later, Britney auditioned again for The Mickey Mouse Club and gained a role on the show. Other than the MMC, Britney was in various commercials, shows and competitions.

Britney took a break for awhile, and began to miss performing so she called up her agent and he took her to audition for various recording studios. Britney was signed by Jive Records. She was initially supposed to be in the girl group Innocence, but decided to go solo instead.

Britney Spears has sold approximately 85 million records worldwide making her one of the top selling solo artists of all time.

Britney Spears' personal life seems like a roller coaster. She is everyone's favorite celebrity to love (and hate), start rumors about, and photograph.

She has a younger sister (famous Jamie Lynn) and an older brother. Her mother and father were together for years and split up when Britney was in the middle of her fame.

In the early years, the biggest rumor to be spread was that Britney had breast implants at 17. She always denied these rumors and there was never any real proof of her having any.

Her most well known and talked about relationships are ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and ex-husband Kevin Federline. She has 2 children with Kevin Federline.

She always handled her life very well until 2007. Britney had a mental breakdown where she fired everyone she knew, shaved her head, went into rehab, and was checked into the hospital. Her dad has control over her life and has brought Britney back to a normal state.
