New York Travel Tip: If you plan to stay in Brooklyn, New York I suggest the Downtown Brooklyn Marriott Hotel, 333 Adams Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201, 718-246-7000. Staying at the Downtown Brooklyn Marriott Hotel has many advantages. Convenient Location to enjoy Brooklyn Heights (within 5 minute walking distance). Stroll Montague Street. Enjoy coffee shops and resturantes on Montague Street. One of my favorite resturantes in the area is the Cucina La Traviata. The food menu prices are reasonable.
You will enjoy your stroll. It is a delightful walk! As you make your way to the end of Montague Street you will enjoy the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade offers one of the most spectacular breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. It offers a relaxing alternative for those who want to gaze at the bewitching city of New York. Be sure to take your camera and use it.
You will experience Brooklynites walking the Promenade, a picturesque water background and views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Downtown Manhattan, South Street Seaport, the Financial District and the Statue of Liberty. Watch and see the Staten Island Ferry and other boats glide on the Hudson River. This is a great place to get a different view of New York, take it all in - the people, the water and the skyscrapers of New York City. Enjoy the company of someone special - great place for a date or you can spend quiet reflection time and relax on one of the Promenade's park benches.
Staying in Brooklyn you have the option to visit other charming Brooklyn Neighborhoods by using New York Public Transportation or rent a car and use the Marriott hotel's parking garage. Inquire about parking fees. The Downtown Brooklyn Marriott location will, also, give you quick access to The Brooklyn Bridge and New York City. As you leave the Marriott Hotel make a right on Adams Street and walk to the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Brooklyn Bridge is accessible from either the Brooklyn entrances of Tillary/Adams Streets or a staircase on Prospect St. between Cadman Plaza East and West. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge. it is a very manageable 40-minute walk probably an hour leisurely walk altogether to appreciate it fully, enjoyed the fantastic views and take photographs.
The pedestrian entrance/exit on the Manhattan side is on Park Row near New York's City Hall. The Manhattan side of the bridge is accessible from the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall subway station (served by the 4,5,6,J,M, and Z Trains). If you are staying at the Downtown Brooklyn Marriott Hotel on Adams Street and decide to walk over the bridge you have several options to get back to the hotel.
You can walk back or catch the J train at the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall subway station in Manhattan and get off at Jay Street/Borough Hall in Brooklyn and walk to Adams Street to the Marriott or throw your arm up in the air and hail a yellow cab like a New Yorker to go back across the bridge to the hotel. Either way enjoy the ride and the experience.
I delight in a good dining atmosphere, delicious food, gracious service and sparkling conversation. The Downtown Brooklyn Marriott has an Incredible Sunday Buffet! Pricey but worth it. Enjoy a true culinary Brooklyn, New York experience featuring savory selections, including fresh fruits, Italian and French breads, New York Bagels, smoked lox, made to order omlets, seafood, roast beef, salads, assorted desserts and more. In order to best accommodate your party, I strongly recommend making reservations.
